What I would do is bring the check to your bank and then have them call up the bank to verify the funds are in the account.

If you do call up to verify funds I would only do it out of curiosity. Don't risk it even if they say it's a valid check and there are sufficient cleared funds.

You know that when a company opens a business account with a bank they get a book with LARGE business checks. They are that size.

Personal checks are the small ones.

The western union part seems like the scam.
