Maybe now all the bitching and moaning about 2257 and "Oh, man, if ONLY Democrats had the house" will turn to "Oh, shit, we still have all these fucked up laws coming even month .. I guess it didn't matter who was in power after all!"

If 2257 is all people are concerned with when voting then they need a swift kick in the teeth.

The democrats won't push Bush out early... no, they are going to let the little boy twist in the wind, and expose his bullshit piece by piece, all but assuring the democrats of a nice presidental win the next time around.

Mark this down as the point where the democrats swung back into power... and the republicans have only started down a massive, massive decline. The stink of Iraq, an arrogant president, and a long list of house and senate members in trouble with the law won't go away quickly.

On the plus side, Tennent and his ugly hair are gone. That is an improvement!

They'll bitch about ANYTHING when it comes to Bush, or really -- any administration. People love to hate. It's the theory of "People who know the least know it the loudest."

Engage most of the loudest whiners and detractors into ANY sort of intelligent discussion on the issues, and before you know it, they're citing blogs by unknown idiots as "sources," just plain making shit up, and demonstrating a clear lack of socioeconomic and global-political perspective. Oh, and then you learn they're .... 17, and have never voted.

I'm just happy that maybe NOW we can stop HEARING about it. It's almost worth letting some the least qualified people, who ran on the platform of ONLY "I am not a Republican," get into office to stop the winining. It's not like who is in office really matters anymore anyway, nor does any of the "votes." It's arguing over a sham, wasting time ... and, sadly, some people have pissed each other off SO MUCH on this board, they'll no longer do business! What kind of ignorant shit is that?!

Opinions are like assholes -- everyone's got one, and they usually stink.

Gridlock good!! Wouldn't it be great if they can't get any new laws passed that fuck with our livelyhood?

Potential Scenarios: Democrats want a new tax hike for anyone that makes money on the net, and it gets vetoed. Republicans want a new law that says if a girl shows her knees in a photo, the photographer and his extended family are subject to strip search, and execution, the democrats knock it down. I think it could be good times ahead.

Just hope they don't get us nuked, by cozying up to our enemies.

Hm, I didn't know that was the case. That's good, then. I just wish it was someone a little less fringe and a little more mainstream. Clinton had some great ideas about bringing "fringe" Dems back in line with America. He got shunned with that suggestion, for the most part, in 1990. He flew through the primaries, though, and by 1992, no one was doubting him any more as he took the Presidency. They WISHED they'd listened by 1994, when voters sent a clear message about the lunacy and general ass-hattery of the Democratic Party of the time, breaking a 40-year stranglehold the Democrats had on the House and Senate, and giving it to the Republicans.

FINALLY, some Democrats have woken the fuck up and smelled the coffee. Although I am a registered Dem, the ONLY Democrats I've felt comfortable voting for in YEARS have been those running as moderates. The unfortunate thing is peopole like Nancy Pelosi, "Dirty" Harry Reid, Jack Murtha, and others, who continue to pound the "we are lunatic fringe-thinkers" into the minds of Americans. They're virtually untouchable on the local level because their voting base is ALSO filled with lunatic-fringers. The PROBLEM is that on the national level, they're out of touch ... and they reflect SO poorly on the party as a whole, I'm ashamed to be associated with them. I want to spit every time they hold a press conference and make the rest of us look like complete assholes.

Not all of us HATE Bush. I dislike the guy, but I can see the good, too. I'm not blind to it, as some have made themselves. Most of us are moderate, picking some issues from the right, and some from the left. It doesn't always have to be "us" against "them." It's just too devicive, and I think if it continues, we're headed for an even more serious rift in the United States, perhaps even a sundering of the union.

Liberalism is ABOUT change, unfortunately. Conservatives regress or maintain the status quo, Liberals progress. Civil wars, military overthrows, etc, all Liberal pushes by their very nature. "We don't like this, let's change it." I'm not speaking about the party affiliations in the U.S., I'm making generalizations about the terms.

And, actually, annoyingly, I'm watching Pelosi's speech right now, and if I had a nickel for every time she's said "change" so far (or every time it's appeared in the caption below her, I'd buy you ALL lunch.

It worked for Clinton only because he left before the North Koreans told us they lied to him, and were making nuclear weapons. He left before Al Qaeda, emboldened from us running when the shit hit the fan in Somalia, flew planes into our buildings. He left before our degraded intelligence capablities, screwed us in Iraq. But, yeah, it worked for Clinton, just not the United States.

Here is the problem: Many of the "wars" of modern times have been started by conservative presidents... Conservatives by their nature see things as "our way is right, you are wrong" and attempt to change things to their image regardless of it being good or bad for the people involved. More people have died in Iraq as a result of the war and the ongoing lawless situation compared to all the time of Saddam's rule... but Saddam is going to hang for it.

Conservatives want to tell people how to live, and in the US, specifically want the country to be run by laws that match up with what their bible tells them is right. Issues such as gay marriage, abortion rights, and stem cell reasearch are split almost exactly on religeous lines, rather than taking into consideration the overall implications for the individuals involved. Conservative (especially big C style) doesn't look at people as individuals, rather as a flock that should be herded and sheered on a regular basis.

The dreaded theory of "tax and spend liberals" is more than anything a reflection on the "spend away the future conservatives", who more often than not spend their time in power running up debt, paying for unpopular wars, and giving massive tax breaks to their rich conservative friends. Then the liberals get into power, and they have little choice left but to pay the bills left behind by the conservatives. (please see details of american debt levels 1980-2006, and match up years to Presidents). Bush Sr lost his Presidency because he was unable to continue to financial suicide pact of Reagan's voodoo economics for 12 years... the bill came due during his term and he got screwed over... the same screwing over that the conservatives have tried to hand the liberals every 8 years.

Watching Boy Bush on TV this morning, he looks like a beaten puppy. 2 years of the lamest of lame ducks, coming up!

Sorry, but that was the joke I was making. Clinton fucked us right in the ass on that one, but no one cares -- they want to yell about Bush. They were probably under 18 during Clinton. *shrug*

It was time for change. Republicans in DC fucked up big time and don't deserve to hold power. Enjoy the next few years Dems. Anyone who follows politics knows the tables will be turned in a few years.

Same old story, you can't trust human beings will ultimate power.
