:mad When did itunes music go from 99 cents to $1.69?

Seriously...a 70 cent jump??? I swear it was still 99 cents just a couple of days ago!

I see I may have to go back to stealing music

yeah they can pretty much fuck off now. i'm not paying that much.

this will hurt their business model.

i used to buy like 30+ songs a month.

now instead of 30 bucks a month that would cost me 50+.

not gonna go down like that.

They changed it when they figured out that people are retards and will pay for mp3s. I have about 20 GB of music and Ive paid $0 per song. It wasnt worth it at .99 either.

Definitely. I buy stuff a few times a week and I just noticed it today. This is some utter bullshit.

I was looking for a remix to this Dinah Washington song, but I'll be getting it from somewhere else.

I can see increases of a few cents over time, but to jump a whole 70 cents is simply ass-raping their loyal customers

What songs are you seeing 1.69, on there now and everything I search for is still .99?

The music industry was pressuring them to do it. People download the few hit songs off an album instead of buying the whole album. This raise helps to make up for that.

May as well just download them from P2P instead. AllOfMP3 doesn't operate legally.

And I'm still seeing songs in iTunes for 99 cents.

Mine is showing $1.69 all over, so not sure why some of you still have the 99 cents. Enjoy it while you can I guess

Still 99 cents on Napster!

But yeah -- if they bump on there, too, I'm going to buy less music. At $1 a song it was easy to justify buying every single ditty I wanted. On the other hand, I think a song is worth more than a king size candybar so anything less than $2 is fair.

Nah...it's cause I'm black

If they are raising the prices this much, I might buy a few more shares of AAPL. They've got too many people hooked who will continue to buy. Hell, some people might not even notice it for a while.

Go to the main page of the iTunes store, scroll down to the bottom and make sure you have USA selected as your country. The price you're seeing is for Australian iTunes.

That's my point. Why bother paying a site to steal for you when you can do it yourself.
