Does the injunction still stand after the newest law passed, whatever the heck the # is? I can't keep up with all the new additions.

The Attorney General probably gave the FBI permission to ignore the injunction in the name of Homeland Security.

If you don't defend this search, then you support terrorism, and hate freedom and liberty.

Shouldn't they be investigating child predators in Congress?

More than likely the Attorney General is ignorant of their own damn law and that of the injunction. It is interesting that they will just ignore a US judge as far as the inspections go.

What ever happened about them re working this shit under that other law? What did the judge say about that? Seems to me the Attorney General was pretty much just ignoring what the judge has said in that matter to.

If they can ignore the constitution and supreme court about torture and civil rights, its quite likely they could ignore this too.

Wow, I really feel sorry for secondary producers that aren't in compliance right now.

I wonder if it was a mix up (the feds didn't know they were fsc members?), or if they feel that the new 4472 statute supercedes the 2257 injunction?

Hrm, let's see.

Incorrectly cross referencing 2257 records = 5 years in prison per offense.

Violating a Federal Judge's injunction against inspecting those records = HRMMMMMM I WONDER

I'm willing to bet it involves the following:

Judge: Uhm. What you durrin?
Attorney General: Oops. Honest Mistake. Sorry.
Judge: Thanks for saying you're sorry. Don't do it again.
Attorney General: Mmk.

Violating the judges order would make the search invalid, so no 5 years for every invalid cross reference.

Too bad, so bad.

Go read the story, the FBI agents talked with the lawyer and decided to go ahead with the search anyway. They truly don't give a shit, apparently.

I agree, the BEST that will happen is that in this PARTICULAR case any violations that were found will be thrown out. By all accounts though, no violations were found, so I guess it's all moot.

I was going to bring up this point as well. There is a new law in place - The Adam Walsh law - and while everyone was up in arms over the new 2257 regs no one seems to have noticed this law went into place and pretty much covers everything the 2257 laws proposed and even more so.

Is it not possible that this new law totally bypasses FSC injunction?

That seems to be the question with no answer at this point. I'm curious as to why the FSC hasn't acted against 4472 yet?

Can someone from the FSC pop in and answer this and update us on any other pertinent matters as well?

It's been awhile since we're heard from you folks...teh Boy Alley donated his sig and raised some nice cash for you, so it would seem to be a reasonable request.

I have a really bad feeling the answer is that the FSC is hurting for cash in a major way....
