As always I see there are a lot of people that have opinions about what is right or wrong without all of the info.

ChrisM was never told that he would be charged $0.20 per click to fulfill the deal.

TikiTiki, who are you? Why are you bring this thread up again?

charly, we didn't take Chrism's money. It is still sitting in his affilate account. If you knew anything about this business you would know that our reputation is one of the best in the industry.

Choker, Anyones who doesn't want to do business with us doesn't have to. ChrisM still is.....because our checks go out on time, everytime...and if there is a problem we do whatever it takes to fix the problem. As we have in this case.

chodadog, We have not fucked him over, though we have had a disagreement it has been resolved.

Pathfinder, Not even close.

Socks, ChrisM has lost $0 dollars on this deal.

FatPad, He did not get strung along for months. every issue he has had with us...and there have been a few...have been resolved. The last time ChrisM had an issue with us a few months ago i took care of it for him, and at that time told him if anything ever happened again to contact me personally. The first i heard of this issue was from this board.

Brujah, I would have expected better from you.

Charly,

Aly is a woman who has much stonger business ethics than you could ever hope to have and i suggest that you think before you type.

Pipecrew, have your freind e-mail me [email protected] ..we have sent out tons of MP3 players...I have no idea why his would not have gone out.

Anyone who has been in business for as long as we have is going to have issues with people. You can't keep everyone happy all the time. But what counts is what you do to fix the problems and in this case the problems have been fixed.

Perhaps i used the wrong words. I'll rephrase. You fucked him around. Seems a pretty simple deal. Send money for clicks, clicks start coming through fairly soon. But, instead, you jerked him around for a couple of months or so.

I don't know you, i don't know Aly, but i feel (bear in mind, this is an opinion), that the situation was dealt with poorly!

I mean, think about this. You're trying to buy a loaf of bread. It has a price tag of 1 dollar, but when you get to the checkout, they scan it and say it's 5 bucks. I doubt anybody would be happy with that. Yes, a shitty analogy, but i'm tired and that's as good as it gets.

Simply put, isn't it worth sustaining what was obviously a good relationship between sponsor and affiliate by honouring the deal? You admitted it, you guys stuffed up. Fair enough, mistakes happen. But you strung him along with it for a few months! That's just not fair.

If the deal had been that simple it wouldn't have been an issue...we have been selling trafic though our double-opt in lists for along time without problems.

It involved a lot more than simply buying clicks from us.

And he wasn't jerked around for months...

The person he cut the deal with no longer works here and there was some confusion as to what had been done and not done....admittdly it took a couple of weeks to get Chrism's issue sorted out...but eventually we did.

You seem to use the saying "sorted out" quite loosely..
I have nothing against Python at all. But this situation reflects poorly on you guys, as i'm sure you can appreciate.

To me, having the situation sorted out would be honouring the deal, or at the very least, honouring the second deal. I'd feel pretty raw if this had happened to me.

chodadog. you are quite right...is does reflect poorly on us and is not indicative of how our business's are run

It is an unforunate that we are unable to supply to ChrisM the clicks.....but it is not a choice at this point.

You sent a contract, he says he is waiting for his money, you say you will refund his money. Where it's not, is in Chrism's bank account.

Made a mistake Aly is a woman, I did not know. I'm sorry.

However I did not say her business ethics were weak. She quite plainly stated them. You or one of your employees make a deal you do not like you change it as many time as YOU see fit.

Your word means nothing. And you are strong on that one. And I suggest you get her and yourself to think a lot more before either of you type. You are digging a grave for yourself, why? You may have a big company but none of you are big enough to back a one time deal that will lose you money. But will save your reduced reputation. Now you have allowed this to go so far, you are in fear of losing face.

I'm assuming you are the boss, what you should have done is come in as "The Man" and said. "I have decided to honour this deal, because our companies honour is more important than a few dollars"

You chose instead to bump it and just prolong a thread that shows you in a bad light. Not clever!!

I've been in business 25 years, don't even start to teach me business ethics and practises, especially from this thread.

Thanks for the support and feedback guys... truly appreciated.

I dunno what's going on at Python. Anyone with even half a brain would have honoured the deal, lost a few bucks but saved their reputation. Reputation is what really counts in this industry.

But at least we all know where we stand now. Anyone thinking of dealing with Python in any capacity (and under any of their various names) knows that their word means fuck all.

Chrism never sent us any money...the money was supposed to be taken out of the monies accrued in his account with our affilate program. It never was taken out.

The deal was not fulfilled due to us wanting to increase profits and I am unwilling to discuss the terms of why it wasn't fufilled on a public board. However ChrisM and i have talked extensively about this and have reached an understanding that is between he and I.

The ethics I have called in question have not to do with this thread but more how you conduct your self in general in the posts I have seen you make. Talking shit about something you know nothing about is NOT good business ethics...no matter how long you have been in business.

EVERYONE fucks up once in a while. I don't care who you are or think you are, it happens. Anyone who says they don't ever fuck up is LYING......

I see nothing wrong with not being able to fulfill a traffic deal if all money was refunded in a timly manor. Most business deals work like this, - pay and get the expected product or money is refunded.

If you put a deposit on a car that was supposed to be made in a month and the factory had technical problems and can no longer make that car anymore, they refund your money. End of issue.

You have to understand all everyone else has seen here is that the fuckup was admitted, that you were sorry about it, and that you aren't going to do anything to make it up to him. It just seems like a bad move over 50,000 clicks. I don't think people have been too unreasonable in their opinions about that.

The warning was NOT to buy traffic from Python Video. If you aren't selling anymore, then no problem. You aren't losing any business from traffic buyers then.

Clever tactic but I don't think the people on here were born yesterday!

I'm grateful to you for looking into things for me, Brent, and for your numerous apologies, but that doesn't change my view of the company you represent. As you said yourself, Python screwed this up (not once, not twice, but over and over) and will not make amends beyond an apology. That speaks volumes, and my posting simply echoed what many other people here have already said: when a company openly admits that it will not honour a commitment it made because one of its managers just "changed her mind", that's a fair indication that it's not a very reliable company or a company most serious webmasters would want to be dealing with.

You guys dug this hole, not me. In this industry, sweet words mean very little - we're judged on our actions, and Python's actions have been dishonest in this instance.

"Brad, you are SUCH a gulllible ass! Kissing Python's butt when they wouldn't take your calls when you wanted to whine! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Shit for brains greedy asshole! ROFL " - TikiTiki

Listen bitch... just a guess that you are female... I can't imagine any male naming himself that... I don't know who you are but evidently you have an agenda for bringing a dead thread back to life without having anything of either value or comedy to add. I have absolutely no fucking idea what you're referring to with this "...they wouldn't take your calls when you wanted to whine!" What planet are you from?

With regard to calling me gullible, an ass, shit for brains and greedy... Now I'd really like to know who you are. I certainly take offense and can't wait to find out which nobody you are.

I'm dissapointed with Python's resolution but I don't think the apology is at all insincere. I've never made a deal, good or bad, that I haven't honored and I suppose that's why I'm dissapointed. I just think it's too bad they're refunding the money instead of sending the traffic, obviously the client would prefer the latter.

I suppose they have their reasons - if they can't fulfill it, they can't fulfill it. Most people in our industry could only hope to be so genuinely respected and well-liked as Aly Drummond. You can't find fault with Aly or Brent as they ultimately just take their marching orders from above. Unfortunately for David and Chad, they're left with the tough decisions and have to do what they decide is in the company's best interests... and that is never going to please everyone.

In the end the unfulfilled contract is of course a bad reflection on Python. However, life goes on and so must we all.

Brad

I'm listening, little boy. And I KNOW what I'm talking about and perhaps if you would use that coconut you call a brain a little, you can figure it out yourself. Think back! Remember those times you were given the cold shoulder? This other big company wouldn't put your assie links up? You called Python to whine to them and were told no one was at the office? Well, NEWS FLASH!! They were!!! They were just sick of you and told the receptionists or whoever to TELL you they were out! ROFL Oh, you poor boy!

Of course you'd like to know who I am and I'll give you a clue. I am nobody you know but I know YOU!

Everybody has a story.

If his money was refunded, or he was not charged, there should be no real problem except maybe the slow response on Python's side.

Everything has now been worked out to ChrisM's satisfaction.

We have agreed on a form of compensation that works out very well for him.

How amusing how the little freaks can crawl out of the woodwork.... and keep logging on with different, new handles! That'll garnish a lot of respect here.

I think I know who you are now...

Oh come on! Business deals go bust every day in every type of business. Does the gas station guy complain about not getting the fuel for the 3 cents less a gallon he was told on the phone? Yadda Yadda Yadda for the other businesses.... different stories with the same results.

Be happy that you have your money and an apology and get back to life and business in general. This sort of thing happens daily... an employee screws up or knows they are leaving and just don't do what they should be doing on deals or whatever and people want to point the finger??

Why does SOMEOne have to be the culprit when all they are doing is trying to clean up a deal that went South from a now EX employee?! It sux but guess what?! Welcome to the Business World. Get used to it.

If that was the case they should have done the original deal dont you think? not like it was all that much

Funny how the issues that were brought up in this thread were caused by notjoe himself.

He was stealing ALL of the names from our naughty mail list and selling them to other people. It made it impossible for us to deliver the clicks that we had sold people and so we re-funded the money they had paid and did what we could to make it up to them.

Interesting thread indeed. I've dealt with python for years on the affliliate side and things have always been on the up and up.

A contract is a contract is a contract.

Even in our decadent age a verbal agreement is still a contract. It appears from the thread that there is no dispute whatsoever about what was initially agreed to. That's a contract.

It's been pointed out that some contracts cannot be fufilled. That's true when what was agreed to can no longer be provided. That's not the case in this situation. There's still traffic.

I'm reminded of Martha Stewart's stupidity with her insider trading. She wanted to make $200k and look what making that 200k has cost her. Last I heard her company had lost 600 million in stock valuation.

In this case, Python broke a deal because it wanted to make more money. How much, though, is this broken deal going to cost python? A lot of people read the board and word spreads. And bad words spread faster and further

Hey dumbass, now you're being sladnerous considering there was never anything mentioned about me sellingi the lists to anyone on the court documents.

Python just wanted to make back some of the $1 Million they spent on naughty, just ask the majority of the people who worked at python.

Not with just people wanting to buy traffic but with webmasters larger and small. I hate it when the people at the Top blame some piss assed sales person, when they hired that sales person and told them what could and could not be done. And for the sales person not giving a shit that this person was sending 50 sign ups a day really says a lot about the instructions given...

You guys are missing the point here... It isnt the sales people making these choices it is people like Chad Maldune (spelled wrong) and DVP and Aly making these choices, which is their management team.

Sounds to me like Policy changes
doesnt it happen, you are selling something, the owner/manager/whomever decides they can make more $$$ when it appears what is being done is profitable. Jack the price up.

To Python's credit, I am sure Naughty Mail had good solid deals as well that were always fulfilled.

Just too bad their PR is bad.

No arguments bro... just a discussion... I don't agree with implying beasty any more than I do pedo... IMO, it's bad business ethics...

Nothing personal... I won't support it... I won't go as far as banning all the submitters that use you as a sponsor such as I have done with MET, HA, Alpha, etc... but I won't allow your animal sites to be submitted as sponsors...
