You can get addicted to anything that makes you feel better. Drugs are the same.

I have been seeing my dietary nutritionist for almost 4 months now after my
own problem with anxiety and depression almost cost me my life.
For many years I could only find that valium and aropax was the answer for
my sickness as doctors kept prescribing them to me.

The depression I felt not only put a major impact on my health and wellbeing
but also brought on feelings of worthlessness. It got so bad that I shut out
everyone in my life, my family and friends who only tried ever so hard to help.
I even shut out the one true place where the people there meant allot to me.
The same people I could refer to as a friend and that place was xnations.

Mate, I don't know you, I will never know how bad your own anxiety is
and I just wanted to say that a nutritionist might help.
It could be your calcium or magnesium levels and or other things
as it was with me.

Thanks.

My niece is on oxycontin. She is acting very strange...getting dizzy spells, falling, and has become sorta zombie like. I am afraid for her.

Juicy, try ativan. It is for anxiety and panic attacks, and is the least addictive of the meds in this category. I was in an *ativan* study at UCLA, and the doctors said it was the best of the bunch.

Good luck with getting off Paxil.

Juicy, I know we never spoke or anything but I feel ya bro...
Been there, done that...in fact I am one of the people who CANT get off it. Went on a low dose years ago to help with anxiety and although the panic attacks stopped, the Paxil brought on a slew of other issues. Best of luck..I know it can be hell...
Whats your reg dose and how are you weaning? If you are having issues, try a smaller wean. I was trying 2.5 less every week and it was still to much for me.

If you are going through withdrawal you are tapering off too fast. I was on paxil for years and it took me about 5 months to get off it.

Let's say your reg dosage is 40mg/day. Ask your doctor to prescibe you 4 10mg tablets instead of 1 40mg tablet because your will have to get a little knife and cut up the 10mg tablets in 4 parts so you can taper down in 2.5mg increments.

So in the first 7 days take your regular 40mg dosage (or whatever your regular dose is). Then for the next 7 days you take 37.5 mg (3 x 10mg + 3/4 10mg tablet. 10+10+10+7.5=37.5mg). Continue taking the 37.5mg dosage for a minimum of 7 days. If you still feel OK then lower your dosage to 35mg for the next 7 days and continue until you are off the drug. At this rate it take about 16 weeks (yes 4 months) to get off. If you find 7 day intervals are too fast increase the interval to 10 days. It's important that you NEVER MISS A DAY. You have to discipline yourself. You will feel very tired from taking it every day. But it's worth it. The anxiety will come back but just hang in there. It's a good feeling to be off. The good news is I lost about 35lbs when I got off it. I really does make you gain weight.

Get your self one of those little plastic pill containers to help you manage your little drug junks and mark everything on a calendar to monitor your progress. It get's confusing looking at all those little cut up pieces without any dosage stamps on them. It's like managing little pieces of crack.

By the way Effexor is just as addictive. It's the same class of drug (ssri).

Good luck

Good points there...the slower you taper off the better. My doctor prescribed it to me in liquid form as well when I was trying to get off of it but it still was too hard. Once life does calm down for me I am gonna try again. I hate feeling addicted to this crap. Anyways just know that there is a liquid form available too and it can help

Same here. Anytime I've ever taken anything stronger than ibuprofen, I'm nauseous and usually will puke. I've never understood it either, but narcotics obviously work differently on some people. I've had people tell me they take 2 or 3 pain pills at a time and never feel sick. Just hearing that makes my stomach queasy.

It sounds like you went about it the wrong way...(but maybe that's a good thing).
