Can anyone tell me what happens if you blantly blow off jury duty? I got it a few months ago & got out of it, but I just got it AGAIN! There's no way I'm goin' to it, but I wanna know what's gonna happen to me if I can't get out of it this time & end up blowing it off.
Anyone?

You go to jail. Simple as that. You can get out of it though. Tell them that you'd love to do your part to put all these goddamned minorities in jail. You know they're all guilty of something. Then tell them you work in porn. You shouldn't have to worry about jury duty.

yes, what they said.... it may not be the most honorable way to get out of it, and ive heard there's other ways.... BUT, if you just say that you are racist, like the other posts mentioned, you won't get picked, unless it is a trial for a klansman

I dunno. I would feel bad about skipping it, because quite frankly, I think people should get a fair trial, and rarely do...

Try being honest... tell them you are self employed and cannot afford to miss a day... or your bills will go unpaid... works even better if you have a family or at least a wife dependant on you. Rarely will they insist in that case. They never have on our cases when we were called.

Well to be truthful, I have never been called up for some reason. He has several times and the self employed worked every time but the time he had a cast on his leg, then they wanted him to report in... so he said send a car with a wheelchair. An hour later they called back and the judge had excused him.

Claim having a record, trust that the head bailiff will be looking you up in the system... no record?! Bench warrant!!

In Ohio (used to be anyway) even convicted felons had to go down to the courts to be released from duty and it was ONLY felons that were excused. (they have no rights as voters or anything else) Misdemeanors didn't count or they'd be hard pressed to ever mount a jury of 12.

Seriously, tell them you're a self employed pornographer and and want to do your bit. No one will want you anywhere near a trial. You will be truthful and honest and will not get messed with.

Mess with a judge and he may hold you in contempt or just keep you in the jury room for 3 weeks.
