Claim having a record, trust that the head bailiff will be looking you up in the system... no record?! Bench warrant!!
In Ohio (used to be anyway) even convicted felons had to go down to the courts to be released from duty and it was ONLY felons that were excused. (they have no rights as voters or anything else) Misdemeanors didn't count or they'd be hard pressed to ever mount a jury of 12.
