my new bike

Bought a new 2006 Yamaha FZ1 about 3 weeks ago. Its called a 'naked' sportbike because it doesnt come with lower fairings.

Quickly got tired of that look so today I put lower fairings on it, a carbon fiber exhaust and a fender eliminator, looks like a different bike now

Spending the weekend in Utah with the bike on a some very twisty roads and getting out of the desert heat, see you guys on monday

Isn't that a little slow even for you? Why not the YZF?

What do you think about the new exhaust placements on the 06 bikes?

150hp and 435 pounds dry... what slow about it? Its has the R1 engine in it with a slightly milder camshaft and taller 5th & 6th gears to make it more real-world friendly. Want to do wheelies? Just twist the throttle, no clutch needed.

And as for the new exhaust placements, all they did was copy the Honda Interceptor which was the first production bike with the under-seat exhaust. Here's a pic of my '04 Interceptor that I traded in on the FZ1. These bikes came out in '02, notice where the exhaust is:

Willow would be cool... I haven't been on a track in years.

I'd love to ride Laguna one day though

cheap Mexican labour, or in my case - cheap local laboour, Ilive in South Africa but 99% of the suburbs look neat, clean. green. and beautiful, you wouldn't think for a second that you're in Africa .... well if you go to the townships or even in town - that's a different story

Nice bike, but I just came thru Utah and it sure felt hot to me.

However, going thru the Virgin River Canyon makes it all worthwhile. Man, I love it there.
