To Clarify difference between Model Release and 2257 information. - GoFuckYourself.com

When inspections are done 2 things are going to be looked for as the law states now and as Ive been told by LArry Walters.

1 - GOVERNMENT ISSUED IDs
2- 2257 information.

The law requires to show both. No where does it show that you need to show model release, We have a seperate form for all required 2257 info that has all government required criteria and date of production on it. We then have seperate forms which is the model release which the model gives all the legal righst to us.

We DO NOT have to give out model releases to people buying content. We will give out non blocked IDs..even tho the law requires 1 form of government acceptable id on file.. and will giove out 2257 information form.

In my opinion people asking for releases dont know the law or are intending to rip you off and resell your content as SOBE did to me years ago.

So if you are looking to buy content from us, we will not give out model release but will giive out 2257 docs and ids.

most content providers supply 2257 IDs and model releases if you order exclusives and blanked out if non, I dont see the point in witholding them

The main thing is non-blacked out government issued ID's cross referenced to the images.

(3) record in the records required by subsection (a) the information required by paragraphs (1) and (2) of this subsection and such other identifying information as may be prescribed by regulation.

if you look at par (1) - it says IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT..not documents which means 1 ID. and in detail it gives list of acceptable primary documents

State Issue identification card or drivers license
US Passport
Military ID card

That sucks. your are corrrect.
That said, Before last July when a model walked for a shoot common pratice was to simply scan her id. Perhaps take a picture of her holding said id's. and have her fill out a release. Most production companies were not forward thinking enough to have the model fill out a separate signed legal form listing what is now required by 2257. It wasn't an issue back then.

yes , im glad i wasnt far in the biz before I met Larry Walters and since then ive had a seperate model release and 2257 because as provider i will not give out releases unless its exclusive

Uhm, this isn't a "2257" post, it is a "you don't need or get the model release" post - and I totally agree with Joe. I had a similar event happen, where the dude bought some content as website members area filler - and then all of a sudden, he's reselling it - making DVD's out of it - and had it up on AEBN & HOTMOVIES, etc...Fuck that!

The model releases aren't involved at all with 2257, etc...
