i had a feeling thats what it was when this morning hypo made a huge rank jump and the poll is very easily exploited

I did use After Effects to create the mouse over effect on the Instant Access button.

The Logo was created in Lightwave 3D. I used the modeler to bevel, extrude and surface the text, then I setup lighting and rendered the final logo. Photoshop was used to create the rest of the design, including the reflections from the logo onto the interface.

I think there are some good designs in the mix, although none with this caliper of graphics. I hope the final judges realize this, and stick to the "Rules". Did the designer make the site within the time allocated, is it a new design, are the pages under 200k in file size? I also noticed a handfull of these top sites were uploaded after the deadline.

What the hell is going on here, the site in the #1 spot right now is school girl angels and it wasn't even near the top when I went to bed last night. Pretty sad when you have to cheat cause your design blows or it isn't doing as good as you expected it to. No wonder the world is so fucked up these days, everyone thinks they have to cheat there way through life.

I was saying it was sad that people who are cheating are doing so cause their designs are not doing as good as they expected. This is not a fair contest, cheaters always ruin it for everyone!

Regardless of what I think, there a few other sites in that mix I can appreciate. But from a designers point of view, art and content blend to create an erotic (non obtrusive or confusing) picture. Straight up sexy.

Most of the sites were ok but I thought a bit unoriginal in terms of what I think converts.

My highest mark was 7 for the toon site with Lara ooooo on it.

Take a really good, fun idea like a graphic contest.

Add big prizes worth a lot of money.

Result is always a joke. Anytime you add cash or prizes to something it changes from "a fun thing to do" to "something I have to win to get the prize".

I wish there had been no prizes. :( Then we could have just seen some kickbutt work and not had to listen to or watch this whole thing unfold.

Well, the angels site is a crappy, half ass design obviously done by a rookie. But toon x and mafia one are done by professionals and i doubt there was any cheating for either of those.

now i know people don't like to read these long threads so here is the deal:

this morning a few sited rapidly went up the poll ranks, simultaneously a thread was posted about how if you clear cookies you can vote twice.

the poll became obviously weighted.

so what did i do?

instead of cry like a bitch on here i tried to exploit the poll so heavily that it would be deemed worthless.

the funny part is right before i posted i had to fight to keep my site at the top of the ranks mafia was steadily climbing to get back to the top BUT as soon as this was posted, the shuffle stopped and now it hasnt moved in hours.

based on this i believe some sites were cheating and the poll results are worthless.

Theres My Prize in this contest! Totally fucking biased, rules werent followed, people cheated like a motherfucker, and the preliminary judging was a total fucking joke, This contest was a waste of fucking time..

But big props to all the people who did make it to final judging you did have some nice shit.. The toon site should have finished 1st IMHO.. Again I think this contest was very biased to begin with..

im pretty sure i didn't do what you think i did :) - i had no time to do any flash.. i hardly had time to add sales text.. i will be fixing it all up on monday, adding flash to the middle area, adding sales copy.. changing a few things... mines languishing in the lower middle.. i don't mind though.. part of me wishes i didn't rush it and hand it in especially with all the cheating going on... and i probably went too designy.. but.. eh.. it's there now.. getting a shitty result in the comp doesn't really worry me as much as i thought it would...
