Iraq had alot of Russia's finest equipment, were trained by the Russian's and used Russian tactics, so they did not exactly have antique equipment.

Much of their Army and equipment was destroyed in the 1st Gulf War (during the six week air assault and 100 hour ground war), in addition Russia's finest was not as good as America's finest, also the Iraqi's did not have the will to fight, and were very poorly led.
