My epassporte account is suspended...

Why on gods planet would my epassporte account be suspended?

Oh I don?t like stuff like this. When you try to use something and you get held up. Now I got to wait for a reply from epassporte!

I had an account suspended due to inactivity, I believe it was 4 months that I didn't login.

How long has it been since you last login?

Does anyone else log into their epassporte account after reading threads like these, just to see if their account is still active?

That happened to me last week. The lady at the phone couldn't give a fuck about my problem and just said that someone would contact me shortly. A day after I got an email with a form requestion that I fill it and send a copy of my ID.

After 5 months of having an account and then suddenly this, I said fuck it and left the 5$ that was in the account

i suggest anytime someone's account gets suspended you just initiate chargebacks on every single load transaction you did, up to the amount previously available in your epassporte account.

maybe then they'll get a fucking hintclue.

So, I guess this would be the end of my epassporte account.

I do not get credit card statements, all done electronically.

BTW, just a tip. When you send out documents, finalize them. I can see all the changes made to the word document.

  • A Copy of a Government Issued Photo ID
  • A Copy of the Front AND Back of the Credit/Debit card used to load the ePassporte Account.
  • A Copy of the most recent statement of the Credit/Debit card used to load the ePassporte Account, which clearly displays your address (or a copy of a Utility bill with legible address, if not on your Credit/Debit card statement).

Not much of a problem, other then I will most ceratainly NOT give out my CVC2 code to anybody? Kind of like giving out my PIN number for my bank account.

Grrrr, what is with suspending peoples accounts out of the blue?

This bothers me so much, being a person who always backed epassporte. Mah, now I understand the people who complain!!!!

well i use epassporte for 2 years
the expiration date on my electron card is this month .
I called the support and they told me that a new card will be send at the end of the month , till then i can use the card without any problem . Well it's been a week since my card didnt worked anymore . Even if they said it will expire at the end of the month they blocked it on 5-6 July .
I called them again , paid the 100 $ fed-ex fee to receive the new card .
Now it's 14 July and the electron card status is still : to be printed and to be send .
I have more than 40 K ( 40 thousands $ ) on that account and i cant withraw anything for about a week and God knows how much more will i have to wait .

Yea! Well, I guess I would understand them if I charged back or did something to "hurt" them; which I did not. Then these automated e-mails or mails like:

"You have a new message waiting for you in the Message Center at epassporte.com."

No footer, no nothing. Gets filtered by my spam filter as spam. Glad I found it.

Um, I'd get that money out of the account ASAP. I try not to have more than 100 bucks in my account... so when things like "your account has been..." happen... it doesn't hurt as much.

So what I don?t understand is this.

They ask me to send front & back of my credit card to them! This would mean that they have and store my CVC2 code. Now, reading the MasterCard regulations...

9.15.7 Storage of Account, Cardholder, and Transaction Data
A merchant and any DSE must not store in any system or in any manner, discretionary card-read data, CVC 2 data, PIN data, Address Verification Service (AVS) data, or any other prohibited information as set forth in the MasterCard Standards including, but not limited to, sections 2.5.5.1.1 and 2.8.2.1 of the Security Rules and Procedures manual, except during the authorization process for a transaction, that is, from the time an Authorization Request message is transmitted and up to the time the Authorization Request Response message is received.

2.1.6.2.9 Prohibited Information

?

MasterCard prohibits the recording of PIN data and CVC 2 data in any manner
for any purpose.

10.2.2 CVC 2 Data Storage Standards

Acquirers, merchants, or any agent representative thereof (including TPPs and DSEs), and any POI terminals or devices operated by any such entity, must not store CVC 2 data in any manner for any purpose. Issuers should not expect CVC 2 data in recurring transaction Authorization Request/0100 messages. At its discretion, MasterCard may impose a noncompliance assessment of up to USD 100,000 per individual violation, with a maximum aggregate assessment of USD 500,000 for additional or continuing violations during any consecutive 12-month period, for failure to comply with this requirement.

Now I might be missing something here, but this worries me. What is going to happen with my credit card copy? Where does it go? Who all gets access to my credit card number and CVC code?

I don?t know about this. Not like I am walking to my local bank branch or anything.

And why?

The cardholder's name and address are confirmable during a debit/credit card transaction and if the card itself were not valid, the transaction would not clear. If EP were genuinely concerned about customer (or their own) security, why don't they mail out a pin number (as banks do), making an account unusable until activated, via an ATM, using that pin number?

If they did that they would have a valid card and with it a name and address that has been checked by a bank; plus verification that their customer has access to the registered address. If that is enough for banks and credit card companies in this post 9/11 era, why isn't it enough for EP?

It has been a while, but if I recall correctly, EP, like PayPal do in fact go a step further, making those small deposits to your account. That process confirms you have access to the account, making it very unlikely you have simply stolen someone's card details.

I suppose you could still be a very thorough identity thief or someone intent on some other form of fraud. But if you are clever enough to fool a bank into accepting you in person, you are surely clever enough to produce copy documents for EP. So what is the point?

The worst conclusion is that they have reasons of their own, nothing to do with anyone's security, for collecting additional data about their customers. The best conclusion is that no-one there has stopped to ask why they are inconveniencing their customers and intruding on their privacy more than is necessary.
