eNom and other domain APIs - who's using them - good? bad?
I'm looking for a decent API solution for domain registration. I currently use the cheap ass hosted solution from godaddy which is good but I am developing and implementing a central billing and hosting solution and it is impossible to integrate godaddy into this unless i deposit $5k and upgrade to their API.
So before going down this road, let's discuss different api solutions for domain registration and their costs. Enom - well known and a big company. How their support? do i get anyone speaking english? godaddy/wildwestdomains - decent pricing, 5k deposit required, great 24/7 support, rep either answers calls or returns them within 30 minutes up to 9pm west coast time. They always try and sell you their services which conflicts with a hosting company. I can turn off the extra features but in the event the customer calls the support line they try and upsell services I don't offer through them. I don't feel like fielding calls about how to change name servers or update contact info so i need a company that will take these calls. https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/...5&app%5F hdr= List of services needed. API required all the standard extentions. com, net, org, us, info, UKs, EUs bla bla bla small deposit if any at all flexible billing options, their biller or mine add to this list. Share your experiences. if you're a rep for any of these companies that can provide this, contact me. ICQ-291313057

I've used enom API for a few years and it was great, as long as you don't need support. Their support sucks. Sometimes they answer immediately, sometimes a few days later and sometimes never.
The nice thing about enom API is that there are a ton of PHP/Perl scripts out that take advantage of the huge amount of features they offer so if you needed sample code, you could find it fairly easy. You'll need an enom reseller account which can be acquired pretty easy. Never used godaddy so I can't comment. Good luck.

I'd go with opensrs
they have nice api, don't require large deposits ($500 was last time I checked) their support is pretty good as well. I'm gonna use them myself for a new project. |

Enom - YES USE EM
GoDaddy - One of the worst OpenSRS - LAUGHING STOCK OF A BUSINESS, and they really show off why opensource sucks there's a script out there that uses the Enom API, its like 100 bucks, don't buy it from source, buy it from reseller, and save like 30% Only problem is the owner of the script is a real jagoff who thinks his shit don't stink, so support might be a problem ![]() |

I don't want to have fuck with my precious domains, so I don't bother paying 8,99$ for a domain at GoDaddy
