COKE

In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

This works, though it is more to do with the foil than the coke. Seems any liquid plus aluminum foil cleans off chrome.

Anyone who has worked in a Restaurant that uses soda wells, knows that Diet Coke syrup rots the lines 10 times faster than any of the others. Also if you get it on your skin, you need to wash it off or it will begin to burn. Keep in mind this is the highly concentrated syrup, not the Soda itself.

FYI:

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It's pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.

2. To carry Coca Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly Corrosive materials.

3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years! Drink up! No joke. Think what coke and other soft drinks do to your teeth on a daily basis. A tooth will dissolve in a cup of coke in 24-48 hours.

Here is a break down of some PH levels.

Lemon Juice: 4.0
Vinegar: 4.0
Tonic Water: 4.0
Asprin: 5.0
Lemon Soap: 6.0

Now to make the proper adjustment we need to talk about phosphoric acid.
Classic coke is .055 percent phosphoric acid.
An Orange is 1.09 percent phosphoric acid.

Now go right ahead and place a nail, even a non stainless steel one in a class of coke and let it sit for four days. Fuck give it 30 and if you feel like it change the coke every day to keep it even more fresh. Most you will get is a rusty nail due to water content. I will put money on it.

appearantly you don't watch Mythbusters. They pretty much debunked most of this Coke "does this or that" crap. Yes it cleans chrome pretty good. No it does NOT dissolve meat.

Classic coca-cola has a similar pH to lemon juice, which is around 2.5.

2.5 is very high acid strength!

(lower pH means stronger the acid)
