Directnic suck bigtime *DRAMA*

I have always been happy with directnic, I've been using them 4-5 years now but now they can really fuck off.
In the beginning of June I transfered 10 domains to them into a new account from another registrar.
My credit card was charged, and domains was transferred without problems.
Yesterday I was about to register some more domains and I got the message "Account locked due to credit card fraud" and thought WTF, I checked the domains in the account and they where all suspended.
I contacted directnic right away by e-mail, as it was not during the phone hours support, after 12 hours I had no responce and called them.
The person I talked to said he couldnt do anything, it was up to the legal department, I asked ofcourse to talk to the legal department and he said no sorry they dont answer to requests on the phone, and I should E-mail them, which I already did. I send them a second E-mail and still no answer, now 24 hours have passed which is totally fucked up since they also terminated the domains and redirect traffic to their PPC search engine landing pages.
Today I checked my bank statements and see that they refunded the amount I paid 1 month ago for the domains (value dated TODAY)
To put it in short they:
1: transferred my domains just fine.
2: locked my account and redirect the traffic
3: refuse to talk to me on the phone to solve it
4: do not answer their E-mails
5: The support person I talked to confirmed that this is standard procedure
This is totaly fucked up, the moment I get the domains activated again I am gone from there.
Would you feel secure using directnic for your domains?

Especially someone with the size of directnic
I've used several other registrars that is always cheaper, but what I consider important domains I have always moved to directnic because I never had a problem with them and I dont mind paying extra for the security that everything will be OK.
Guess I was wrong

Wow that sucks. I do have one thing that might help you. I have an icq contact for someone that works there. He posted on here during the hurricane in New Orleans. Try to get a hold of him and see if he can help you.
His icq is 504-679-5170.

Pick up the phone and call DirectNic again and ask to speak to Sigmund Solaris.

Explain your situation calmly. Sig is not one for high drama and a very straight shooter.
and you might wanna hold the part about you are gone as soon as you can....

If you're a regular customer of DN , you have the option to use the CC on file . That's what i do , it saves me from typing the cc numbers every time and of course they wont be able to claim it's a fraud .
From what it looks like , your card might been used for fraud attempts in the past by someone and raised some red flags . I dont see any other explanation for this .

P.S i have no relation to DN what so ever .

Just like all online business directNIC deals with an incredible amount of credit card fraud.

I suggest you contact your bank if your credit card had problems. You may be the victem of identity theft or some other kind of fraud.

Did you even read the entire thread? He should be contacting his bank, or his credit card company because that is where the problem is.

I trust Directnic with some of my most valuable domain names. They are above reproach.

I guess you think Godaddy is the best place to have your stuff registered because its cheap.

Jscott the problem was NOT poor customer support, rather credit card fraud on the customers end.

While our customer support is top notch, and the reason directNIC has had tremendous growth - they cannot override third party credit card fraud.

Maybe you can figure out how to overcome credit card fraud. If you do, you will be rich. I know CCBill, Epoch, Dell and every other online merchant company would love to know how to accomplish this.

You could still check into it and give some kind of explaination, especially that Due has been in this business for a good 6-7 years and is known by pretty much all old-timers..

Errors do happen and I'm a bit worried that if an error happens to me nobody from Directnic will answer nor help me with this..

they answer with templates without reading the fuken emails.
Good thing I dont need their support, I'd be fucked if I would.

I doubt it, I dont seem to have problems anywhere else with my card.
A few examples: Oxeo, Symantec, Vandyke, Teliasonera (wifi access from airports), maxmind and the list goes on and on. I did one time have a small problem with 2checkout where they called me to verify because it was a $1K+ charge.
The cards is in perfectly good standing and if my bank have problems or questions, then they contact me and ask.
I'm not saying this can't be a bank fuckup of some kind, that would not explain why it was first charged, and refunded 1 month later though, mayby you could explain that, I'm not a billing expert and have only small experience from having my own merchant account + used 3rd party billing in the past.
Regardless of where the mistake is I am not pissed over that, because it can happend, what pisses me off is their basically refusing to deal with it.
People that know me, know I am not the kind of person that jump the boards with every execuse I can get for drama.
Are you related to directnic in some way? It's now been passed on to my USA lawyer (which btw happily accept my credit cards too)

I can't believe people recommended godaddy in this thread. I've been using Directnic for 6 or so years with no complaints or issues and this is one of the first I have heard of with them. On the other hand I have heard countless horror stories regarding godaddy over the years. I would never go near them.

I wouldnt say so. As I already expressed both in my E-mails to Directnic and in this thread, mistakes can happend whoever have the fault of it, but I do not consider it a mistake that they refuse to put me in connection to the correct person, and do not answer their mails.
If this was a problem with the credit card that might have raised whatever flags or done whatever, then I could say okay fine I pay with another card.
They have not shown the slightest interest in responding to my request not before I posted this thead, and not after even though Mike AI seems to be working for Directnic.
My problem is the lack of communication, the lack of communication can risk to become very expensive for me, which I am not interested in.
