No one says that straight people HAVE to get married either. The legal reasons are beyond the "fat" fee that the government gets when you sign your marriage license. It also has to do with tax exemptions, medicare benefits, social security, and other privileges that married couples receive.

See, I just don't agree with that rationale. Here's why: if I am going to marry someone, it is because of love (just like your gif says) and NOT because I want to milk the government for extra benefits. If someone wants the government to recognize their marriage only because they want to be able to take advantage of the monetary benefits, I think that's bullshit. i knew of a friend personally that was in and out of foster homes her whole life that would have killed to have any family.. she didn't care if they were same sex or not. she just wanted someone to love her.

so for you to judge a couples ability to raise a child based on their sexual beliefs is just f'n wrong.. and you should reconsider... and not judge.

You're completely right. I retract my statements about gay marriage all together. I should have remembered that all animals are able to sign legal documents, and the elements have the same rights to a place in society as humans. It must have slipped my mind!
