FINNALY my PICS from ANTIGUA TRIP! ONE PAGE: EASY VIEW!

Ok, so yeah it took me a bit, but I had to tend to some business first. Actually, a lot of business. Well, here they are.

For anyone who sits behind a computer for large periods of your life, I highly suggest that you take times to put down the keyboard and code, and cleanse your mind with something like this.

I hope I encourage some people to take a break and clear their minds.

It was worth it.

Enjoy

CLICK PIC FOR GALLERY

Lets see if you can follow, I'll write some crazy sit in the blog later, but this is a good synapse if you are good at puzzles.

The trips starts at the Antiguan Airport, shuttle through the passages to Customs and Immigration like the hungry cows we all were at that point.

Hotel 1
Sucks ass so bad we almost called the producer for Hotel Rawanda to say that we found a better location for the sequel.

Seemingly endless cab ride to what would end up being the light at the end of the tunnel. The St. James Club in Antigua, about 35 km outside of St. John. Absolutely amazing place.

See moon and ocean pics. Slightly intoxicated.

Lots of hotel pics.

I think theres a boob in there somewhere.

Fed Ex delivers everywhere.

And, the lizard at the bottom of the page says "HI!"

Know Antigua well - and love the place, despite it's shortcomings

It can get "cramped" if you live there permanently, but the air flights out to North America and Europe are good.

But sure... great place and totally chilled out! We used to spend all night in the open air drinking and get breakfast at 5am ish

There is a claim to fame of having a beach for every day of the year (365 beaches), but smell that's the tourist lies

the first night i went downtown with two of the other people in our group to
a club called 18 karat. we were the only 3 white people in there. to be around all the locals and have not one of them make even a crazy face at us, was relieving. we rocked out and made dance circles and was nothing but smile on everyone faces. not one sideways look. in the u.s. we woulda got "parking lot pimped" for being in the wrong place. of course there are several perspectives to any observation. i'm pretty world traveled and antigua is one positive place.

here in the u.s. if i go to 7-11 some asshole thinks i opened the door to hard on him.

antigua is a step back in time. all are equals, and they understand the harmony of coexisting without the requirement of a structured pecking order of "oh, you're cool cuz you have money', or "i can't hang with you, you like that kind of music".

some other countries that i go to really make me wonder how "advanced" are we really? the cost of being "advanced" taxes your well being and feeling good. i could sense that there.

Well, I was born and raised in California... I went back to Michigan to see my grandparents a few times before I hit 18. The first time I went I was shocked because my grandparents on my mothers side didn't have fences... The entire track of houses didn't have a single fence.

Lots of trees everywhere (first time was the summer)... Bushes.. Flowers... Everyones grass ran together. I mowed the lawn once... When I stopped at the perceived border of my grandparents yard the neighbor came out and asked me where I was from. I said California and he got a look like, "Yeah, thought so..."

He told me it'd be a good idea for me to mow his lawn too, and the people nextdoor to my grandparents since they were in their 80's. I thought, "WTF? This guy trying to get a free lawn mowing? I am from California mutha fucka! We take advantage of people, not the other way around."

I went to tell grandpa about this asswipe and he asked my why I am so fucking lazy. Why am I so fucking selfish. He then went to my parents and told them off for moving to California and raising such fucked up kids.

Needless to say I went back out and mowed the lawns... Then edged them and removed a lot of weeds from the 80 year olds house. The neighbor came out and asked me if I fealt taken advantage of or is I felt like I took advantage of life by getting that good feeling you get when you do something for nothing... After about 30 seconds I replied that I felt good. He then went back inside and I didn't see him again until the next time I came out for winter.

I was shoveling snow that was about 2 feet deep. I think I was 4 feet 6 inches tall so it sucked ass. That old neighbor came up with his truck and a snow blower... He told me to go back to playing with the other kids and he'd remove the snow... And hour later he came up and asked if I felt like I was taking advantage of him or if I felt like we were helping eachother out in different ways.

You cannot learn lessons like that in Southern California... It just doesn't happen much... I think it only happened once in my entire SoCal life!

Just an anecdote Air - sometimes it's simple things that impress most.

Was going to collect mail and the office was closed and ended up speaking with a very old lady sitting outside.

She covered the history, least her history while she lived there and the terminology was "ancient". Example.. she used to sell fish at St. Johns when "the men of war" used to sail in. That must have been early 20th century or late 19th the last time "men of war" sailed into St Johns.

Another time, we were going to an open air concert and they were issuing plastic wrist-straps to ID those who paid. Jokingly I says I was not wearing that shit - back comes the reply, "It's OK - you are free here. It's not the same plastic cuffs they use in Florida"

Got nada but good stuff from the people there and two of the best maids ever, were in Antigua.
