My New Pet:

One of my kids just brought buy a fathers day gift. I don't really know why but he paid $35.00 for a Tarantula for a gift. He said I have everything else, so he bought something different.

It is big enough so I think I will get a leash for it, take it for a walk and get rid of some of the stray dogs, in the neighbor hood. I don't think they can whoop this bad mutha.

What is a good name for a Tarantula?

a baby tarantula may seem like a cool idea for a pet, BUT REMEMBER... they grow up!

Lurch is not bad.

I am hoping it doesn't eat Min Pins, because that is what my dog is. I will have to buy a stonger cage for it.

This will sound really immature but every pet store selling Tarantulas is also selling Scorpions. I always wanted to buy both and put them to together to see if they fight. Tyson VS Lewis - who cares?
I wanna see a Scorpion VS Tarantula.

LOL, join the club. I have one too. a girlfriend gave it to me 5 years ago, I thought they would not live past 2. I am scared shitless of spiders, so I have never ever cleaned his cage up to now. He has a good life though, I feed him well, he has 8 times more space than he needs and it is VERY cool to watch them change skin.

I used to ha e a snake and an Iguana as well. But I brought them to a better place. I drove 400 miles to give the Iguana a better home, although I took the best care for him, my house was getting too small in my opinion to keep him. I still think he was the best pet I ever had, he was VERY sweet. After I trained him for 3 years

I have some pics .. let me go dig some up...

I have an Iguana too. She's 7 years old and still as docile (or clueless / catatonic) as she was since day one. I guess that's a good thing. She's also potty-trained so that helps.

I also have a four year old Bearded Dragon. Also very docile but not potty-trained

The Iguana looks like it may have ate the stash. Isn't that a grin that it has.

The pornstash .... that is indeed some stuff I used to sell

The grin .... might be from the smoke hanging around in my room back then, I used to burn lots of weed a day

Pottytrained .... I did not have that luck, although I could see it coming when he wanted to take a dumb (which was a lot at his size, dirty too ), he was not and that was VERY annoying. If he were, I would have kjept him out of his cage permanently. I had some treesticks around my room with (AVB)lights above it, but he shit everywhere. With the salmonella these animals carry, it was really getting out of hand.

My son's Chilean Rosehair tarantula is named Harry. Not much to taking care of the dang thing. He also has a ball python named Tiny. A bearded dragon named Rex. A veiled chameleon that I call Cammie. A hamster named Dusty. A guinea pig named Rusty. A holland lop bunny named PJ.

Then of course there's the 8 cats, my African Grey parrot, the saltwater aquarium, and the 7,500 gallon koi pond.

Hehe.. my son thinks I'm god today.. he comes upstairs.. "My snake got out." Friends of his over yesterday didn't latch his enclosure. I told him to go look in the furnace room which is the next door over from his room.. there he was. My son asked how I knew. I told him "Mom knowssssss how to tttthhhhink like a ssssssnake"

Keep a large dish of water (maybe a tuperware) in your Iguana's habitat. He'll eventually realise it's water and he'll use it to do his business. For the first few days when you think he is about to shit, move him onto the water. You'll soon have a potty-trained Iguana.

For us, we have a dish in the cage, but we let her outside all the time so we also have a dish upstairs next to the toilet (funny how she goes upstairs and poops next to the toilet). They'll learn. Iguanas can learn by repetition.

It must be a boy. You cannot not buy girl tarantulas if I am right.

No, they are not dangerous, but I will never hold him

BTW how can you get uptight with a idea of 2 insects fighting but you design a site around the theme of guns, crime & murder?
