I'm not going to talk about how much money I donate but rest assured Africa and aids related charities are my top priority. Those are the biggest injustices on the planet right now by far.

The sad truth is, is wealth in America is mostly a facade. They probablly have financed everything in the name of their dreams and potential in life they felt. Now that she can no longer work doing porn, she feels helpless. Facing a mortgage, car payment, payments on everything - people more often live outside their means. For her she may have to downsize fast. Losing the love of your life, facing 10k to have a baby (insurance doesn't cover it all!), having to pay 10k to bury her husband, and that is within the next month, not including all the other bills... God, this is why i don't believe in credit. God knows what kind of debt to income they have built up. Just makes a bad situation worse.

Seeing a dead end future financially, my guess is she is more concerned about taking care of her kids than keeping the expensive cars or house or tv. Without her husband, nothing else matters. Feel horrible for her sudden loss. Our opinions about her lifestyle doesn't change the fact that if any of us croaked tomorrow someone we love will have to foot the bills we left behind. It can take a long time to settle estates and get your insurance check. She'll be forced out of her home way before then I'm sure, without help from people who can afford to help her out.

Others disagree. Like myself. But I'm certainly not going to chastise you for doing your part to help another being. You shouldn't either.

The first message she posted on her bulletin board was to ask for money.

If someone wants to donate because they know her or whatever fine, I just started this thread to hopefully make a couple people who would have donated because this pulls on their heartstrings think it through. You're a sap if you don't know this girl and you give her money.

Personally this upsets me a lot more than an ex-pornstar having to sell her fancy house and SUV and having to get a real job once the kids are infants.

To me she's heartless for trying to guilt people into giving her money the second she tells people that her husband died. She didn't even give him one post before throwing out the paypal addresses.

Not to mention that she's going to marry some rich guy in four years. I wonder if she'll return the donations when that happens.

Every responsible parent has made arrangements for their family to be taken care of in case of a sudden tragedy. I know I have, and I did way before I had any disposable income.

Well I don't know you so I won't question your donations - if you say you do, fine. And I applaud your humanitarian side for helping out.

But what is odd is you feeling so strongly about NOT helping Asia that you not only posted once, you started another thread about it. I think most people who want to donate have the ability to decide for themselves and no one, including you, should be judgemental about other's charity ... at least not to the point of this thread, trying to convince people not to!

It's one thing to silently protest.
It's another to state your opinion, you're entitled.
But it's quite the thing to start a whole thread targeting someone who helped make this industry and put money in a lot of our pockets, directly or indirectly.

At the very least, certainly you could have chosen a more deserving target for your rant. There are 1000s of charities out there asking for money for just about everything. I trust you are just as adamant about telling people not to donate to them either (when, as you said, there are starving people in Africa)?

I know several people who have been turned down for life insurance because of something as simple as diabetes.
