What does it take to become a lesbian? (For Girls)

If you wanted to start an exclusive relationship with a girl but have never done so, how would you go about doing that? How easy is it to meet girls out there? I happen to think it is harder for girls to approach other girls than it is for a guy to approach a girl considering you have to get through the "does she even like girls" factor.

I would think that lesbians wouldnt be that openminded considering the girl hasnt been in a relationship with a girl.

Of course this is all hypothetical.

I agree with Amy.. I think it would be more difficult for women than men..

For one, they have to sift through the Bi-Sexual types, or Social Lesbians..
There are so many gals that are Bi-Curious that do it more for social or fun reasons, if a gal were a true lesbian looking for an actual relationship, she's have to filter through all those social lesbos... The ones who do it just for fun, but in the end later down the road are married to a guy after they settle down.

The real lesbos, the ones who truely are lesbos, who look for long term relationships, probably do have it harder than men, casue other than a few GFYers, you dont have too many social gay males around.

Women who are true lesbos probably have a lot more of a hard time, and go through filtering of potential mates more simply beacuse of the latest craze for hot gals to be bi-curious.

I agree that it's probably harder for women than it is for men. I flirt with my girlfriends all the time, but we're not serious. It's just "safer" to flirt with the girls than it is the guys. Especially if I'm not serious about the guy. The guy will always take it too seriously.

Maybe after a while you build up a "lesbo-dar" and can pick them out easier? Thus eliminating the awkward "does she even like girls" barrier.

Or meet people in a lesbian bar/club...

this is an interesting question, and it's actually kind of nice to see someone asking it aloud...or in text. i currently live with my bisexual best friend and her lesbian girlfriend. they met where they work. living in the bay area i've never had an issue finding women interested in relationships with other women. it's when i go out to shows generally, or out with a large group of people - that some young girl is bound to come up to me and tell me that she'd like to make out with me or have girl sex with me, because - even though she's never done it - she thinks she'd like to try it with me. i used to call myself the "try before you buy" bisexual. i've had more girls who've had no lesbian experience come to me looking for one than i've had girls come up to me asking to start a monogamous lesbian relationship. so when these first-timers come around, i inevitably look to see who she's trying to impress, who's attention she wants to get, and what this little lesbian encounter is doing for her - i think these would be the social lesbians someone mentioned above. I'm only bi, not flly lesbian and do enjoy a good session with my girlfriend, she is the only one I will be with besides Paul and he gets to watch (of course) but I havent ever wanted to be with a girl emotionally, simply one girl is enough lol, we nag too much.

But I know those that look for lady companions full time and a social circle, gay meets and bars are the most appropriate places. Also, dating sites are a good one for lesbians and gays. It's anonymous really unless you are talking to someone down the road from you!

Lesbian relationships tend to be different from what every man thinks..He seems to think that it's all hot, horny she woman sex but it's not that at all. Essentially one female is a toy boy who enjoys the manly things in life but then there is the girly girl and the two compliment each other nicely, hence the relationship..

Well that brings up a great point. Now that I am in the industry a lot more and my network of friends is, shall we say, more diverse, I find myself questioning who I really am.

I have always adored women, maybe a little too much (ask the guys at the beach). But I could honestly see myself just one on one with a girl. I dont know... everyone has made some great points, I knew I could count on GFY.
