Now what makes you say that? This list is based on matches a country plays. Countries play in geographic zones in order to qualify for worldcuptournaments though.
So the only thing you can deduct from this list is that the USA might have the best team in the Northern American zone. You can not compare them fairly to countries outside of this zone though.

It's full title is actually the 'FIFA World Cup'. FIFA stands for Federation of International Football Associations. Not Soccer Associations. It was around long before the US version of football and will be around long after as it's the world's most popular sport (3 billion people watched the last World Cup final).

The USA does not suck. We had an excellent showing at the last WC and I feel we will do well, if not better in this Cup. We still have a long way to win one, but it is not impossible. You will see a lot of the world beaters drop out, as the rest of the world is catching up.

He was by far the best player we ever had. Alexi had a lot of heart, a lot of red hair and goatee. Claudio Reyna is the best player we have produced thus far IMO.

I did soccer, wrestling, and shot put/discuss in highschool.

Soccer is no where near the most athletic. A 6min wrestling match was worse then playing both halves in a soccer game.
