contrary to most peoples beliefs there is a huge number of gun owners in Canada. You just have to go through security checks before you can get the license to make sure you don't have any criminal or psycological problems. Also we are allowed to own hand guns up here but the barrel just has to be 4 inches or longer so that it's not easily concealed and it can't be an automatic. Those are the only major differences I can think of. Oh, we are not allowed to own guns such as a .50 cal(wish I could) or flame throwers and such.

Nope, you can still buy pistols; they did ban most assualt rifles though such as an AR-16 and AK-47's. As you probably know it doesn't take much to convert one too fully automatic. I think they also outlawed large clips such as a banana clip and such. It's no biggie though as those guns have no real use other then killing.

In Nevada if you purchase from a private owner, which I did at the gun show last weekend you don't need to fill out any forms or show any id. Private owner transfer

In case you were wondering it's an Ak-47 w/Dragonov stock, bipod, bayonet, 30 rd clip. Yes it's a machine gun and yes if I wanted it to be it can be easily converted to fully automatic.

Two things I thought I would add,

1. I've purchased MANY guns from dealers in the past, all pistols required a permit in MI (before I moved to Vegas) and rifles required a background check.

2. I was shocked that all I had to do was hand over the cash at the gun show and the gun was mine from a private owner, at the next table was the book to convert it to fully automatic, next to him was a vendor selling 75 round drum magazines and a couple more tables away I could buy cases of ammunition, ALL without anyone checking anything. I would say that the US is by FAR the easiest place to get a weapon capable of doing some serious damage and it's quite scary how easy it is to get, do I enjoy that freedom, of course I do, but I also realize that the definte wrong types of people could be picking up weapons in these places.

Uhm... Dude, technically, they were Canadians, because it was Upper and Lower Canada. The Quebecers were the "Canadiens" (hence the name "Canada").

They were British before they arrived in Canada, at which Upper and Lower Canada started forming. During the war of 1812, Lower Canada was a colony, thus making its inhabitants official Canadian citizens.

The United States eventually pulled out, because their armies were decimated, and they didn't have enough soldiers left to fight.

i went to canada recently to go clubbing, and i saw a lot more fights then i do in the states on an average friday night, but everyone walked away and went home. but the people up there are a lot more friendly, cause they arent scared the next person who walks up to them is going to be some freak wierdo that is going to jack them with a gun, unfortunately most americans feel that fear on a daily basis. else so many of them wouldnt be paranoid junkies and tote guns around everywhere. because you all know if you cap someone in your house or on the street chances are very high you will spend a few nights in jail while it gets sorted out. and if you know anything about american judicial stuff that could take a very very long time, and you might even be convicted of a crime even if it is self defense. which in washington state is very hard to prove.

Guess they forgot enough matches. And yep Quebec City held out for abit, but the Americans DID finally take it down. Better get your history books out. I'm from the generation that actually had to learn this sort of thing. Dunno if they even teach it now actually. Oh and it was mostly the FRENCH that held out in Canada. Not the Brits so much. I note which flag flies over this country so trying to say y'all won is sort of silly isn't it?! A war is not won with but one battle.

The Quebecers were the "Canadiens" (hence the name "Canada"). They were British before they arrived in Canada, at which Upper and Lower Canada started forming. During the war of 1812, Lower Canada was a colony, thus making its inhabitants official Canadian citizens. The United States eventually pulled out, because their armies were decimated, and they didn't have enough soldiers left to fight. Canadians burned the whitehouse, by the time the war of 1812 rolled around, the second generation was in, many of the soldiers had been born in Canada, and were by all means, true Canadians. __________________ I can't think of anything funny to say..

dizank So Fucking Banned Join Date: Apr 2002 Location: out west Posts: 55	hows about all you fuckers quit talking about your guns, none of you have killed anyone, and just post pictures of your dicks, because afterall thats what most men are all concerned about anyways right? thier dicksize! i went to canada recently to go clubbing, and i saw a lot more fights then i do in the states on an average friday night, but everyone walked away and went home. but the people up there are a lot more friendly, cause they arent scared the next person who walks up to them is going to be some freak wierdo that is going to jack them with a gun, unfortunately most americans feel that fear on a daily basis. else so many of them wouldnt be paranoid junkies and tote guns around everywhere. because you all know if you cap someone in your house or on the street chances are very high you will spend a few nights in jail while it gets sorted out. and if you know anything about american judicial stuff that could take a very very long time, and you might even be convicted of a crime even if it is self defense. which in washington state is very hard to prove.

Think of all the money we would save. Let the Americans pay for our protection I say! Its not like Canada is at any big risk for being attacked anyways. And even if Canada was attacked, its not like the US and other countries would just sit around and do nothing about it. I say we should let them pay for our protection, and we should use the money we save for free beer for all Canadians!
