I signed up with Askjolene's topspots and deposited $100. I began a few campaigns and decided their traffic was crap even though I was using galleries and sponsors I know do well. I decided to set up a page and feed toplists in the hope of getting some better traffic back from the toplists.

I got all the toplists in place and made 10 galleries all linking to my "toplist" page. The galleries were submitted to Askjolene and approved.

I also set up a blog with them and was getting traffic from there as well.
My blog gets closed because their "top gallery reviewer" says I have pop-hell and visures on my page. I explain that the only pop-up I have is to a toplist and it's only one so hardly pop-up hell. I also let them know I take offense at being accused of having shit on my page that could be harmful.

As a compromise I remove the pop-up and my blog is "opened" again.
When I check my topspots I notice my campaign has been stopped by Askjolene. I mail them and ask why, I am told because my page is serving viruses, trojans and malware. Again I tell this joker how annoyed I am that he is accusing me of doing this and explain that I have NOTHING on MY page that could be harmful. I also told him that I cannot be held responsible for what other people have on their pages. I checked with some of the toplists and did get some pop-ups but nothing malicious.

Oh and now my domain is blacklisted as well.

I said that as they are accusing me of this shit, which is basically libel, and the fact they have stopped my campaign I would like a full refund. I was told this is not possible as the traffic has been sent. They would only refund me the $29 I had left in my account. So the galleries they approved and were sending traffic to are now stopped. If there was a problem then the galleries should not have been approved and no traffic sent.

I ask to speak to someone higher up but I am told by Troine that he has carte blanche to deal with this.

I ask him to show me a screen cap of all the shit he gets from my page and I asked him the names of the torjans and viruses he got from my page.
I had no reply with this proof because my page does NOT serve any shit.

If this plank truly believes I am this dishonest fucker who infects peoples computers with all this shit why does he say:

"I recommend you to add new galleries from a clean host"

I asked him again to show me some proof of all this malicious shit that I am doing:

"I would still like to see a screen cap from MY page where you get shit and I
would still like to know how you can think I am responsible for toplists
that I link to?, even though I still see nothing harmful on their sites
either. Maybe I should contact them as well and let them know you are
accusing them as well.

Again, please show me proof, please name the viruses and trojans you have

Still no response with any proof, because, yep, there ain't any.

I was then told:

"I really regret this situation and I feel really sorry for it but
your non cooperation attitude combined with serving malicious links
and pages let us no other choice then:

Refund your money (done)
Removed your account (done)
Blacklisted your webserver (done)"

He also said my thumbs were linked to pop-ups, I tried to explain they are TARGET tags to open a new window but I don't think he understood that.

I finally send him the source code of my page and asked him to show me the malicious code that is causing him all these problems.

Guess what?, he never replied.

So before signing up with Askjolene beware, they have this joker who is supposed to be their top gallery reviewer and yet he doesn't seem to know anything about galleries, scripts or anything else.

OK, so I will post this page with all these viruses, trojans and other shit on, of course there isn't any, and maybe someone can show me all this malicious shit I am serving.

Before you ask, there are two bits of javascript on the page, one is a counter/tracker and the other is just a window status script.

Now even if a toplist DID link to a page with shit on, is that down to me?, of course not.

I use TopSpots and got good results, their CS is topnotch!

To be honest your gallery sucks. It links to linklists that have all kind of shit in it.
As a advertiser I'm not happy with those links. it scares surfers to click to the paysite...

It actually works pretty well as the toplists feed a "landing" page and I have had some pretty good sales from it. Certainly more than I got with jolene's crap traffic.

I have no intention to get into any discussion on the boards as they can't be won.
But to make some things clear for other webmasters..

Your blog had a popup, not allowed, however they let you keep the blog when you removed the popup.
Your galleries linked to a page which linked to site with installs (when I clicked on one of the thumbs of the URL above, I got a popup with a warning).
You're right when you say that you're not responsible for the sites you don't manage. But we have the right not to allow some types of advertisement. This is an example of what we don't allow.

We're trying to protect our surfers and we got complaints about your galleries. (I saw some examples of your galleries and they all redirected to the landing page above). Because of all these issues we decided not to list the galleries anymore. As the email conversations didn't bring a solution (and yes, I've read them) we decided to refund your money.
We refunded you $29. You received traffic for the other $71, so there was no reason to refund that as you received what you paid for.
You even got more then you paid for as we gave you a $100 bonus. So you received for $171 dollar in traffic.

I understand that you don't agree with our decision. That is your right to do so. But the fact is that we don't want to list your galleries anymore and therefore refunded what we owed you.
I understand that you say that you're not serving the installs yourself, but the sites you link to do, and we don't want to send our surfers there.
I think Toine is doing an excellent job and I have no reason to doubt his judgement, I have read all the emails and in none of them he said something which was not correct or inappropriate.

Don't have links to other sites with malicious content, its your fault, and of course they won't refund your money when they already sent you traffic.

You were lucky they even offered to refund your remaining funds.

Also, the excuse "I'm not responsible for what other people have on their sites" is lame. That statement is true, but don't endorse/link/promote any sites which you do not agree with.

Geezer you are responsible for links that you place on your galleries. The links on those galleries point to a site which you made an agreement with.
As shown in your galleries these links point to site that contain crap/pop-ups an other shit. You know this and agreed to put those links on it.

If you didn't knew then the page that you linked to fuck you over pretty good, but I don't hear any complaints about that.

So long story short.... you agreed on sending your traffic to a shit site, which makes you shit.

I'm very happy askjolene gets rid of bastards like yourself and keeps up the good work with serious webmasters that want to make money through "fair" links. Which means you know the value of the traffic.

any place is allowed to have their own rules but there are many 'big wigs' in this industry who would very much disagree about the use of pop-ups and installs. personally i don't agree with a lot of installers but i don't see why this industry has become so anti pop up. mainstream uses them all the time. just don't abuse them. i think its overkill that tgps won't even allow links leading to paysites having one pop up.

Seems like your were treated correctly by AJ, if something like this happens try to resolve it and stay polite, your writing style wasn't very friendly towards them but still they explained everything clearly to you. You knew you can't have popups.

I was contacted by someone on the inside of Ask Jolene a while ago, and told they were sending fake clicks to my galleries, because they had run out of inventory -- this explained going from decent converions to zero sales overnight, right after Mike and I agreed to do $10,000/month.

I contacted them about it, and got some bullshit back. I went to the boards (Xbiz, specifically, where I am a Moderator). They banned my account (and my IP), and they've STILL got some of my money.

They weren't associated with WorldSex back then. Hopefully, some of the scammers have left the company since.

Won't happen -- he's got 'em snowed somehow. He snowed Mike the same way, before the acquisition or whatever went on. Even when presented with server logs showing SEQUENTIAL IP'S, 95% non-javascript clients, and a freaking ICQ log of someone ratting him out, the little worm still denied sending fraudulent traffic, then did what any scammer would do -- locked my account and kept some of my money.

I understand you have issues with Askjolene for various reasons. I don't agree with you and I don't intend to go into a discussion on this board for the same reason as with Geeezer, it doesn't improve the situation.
Sofar you have told your side of the story quite extensively. It started when Toine made a post at another board (which could be interpreted as not so customer friendly, I admit that, but he already stated before that email was the way to go in case of problems). In this post he stated that he didn't want to give support over a board (which totally makes sense), but preferred to do that over email.
The problem was that our traffic didn't convert for you anymore and you claimed we committed click fraud. As everybody knows, we don't fake clicks, we never did, we never will. We have several tools in place to prevent that, e.g.: we count clicks per unique. So if the same person clicks on a gallery link more then once, we only count 1 click.

Conversions can be different for anybody. Askjolene doesn't work for everybody. No site does. (accept worldsex.com of course, people buy more advertising there!!, but that is a totally different story)
After that you started to be very insulting which is not the way we like to do business. We prefer not to insult people, especially on boards. As the situation didn't improve we decided to cancel your account and refund you the money we owed you.

I understand you're not happy with the current situation. I believe we treated you in all fairness though when we cancelled our cooperation. We have the right to do business with who we want and if somebody starts insulting us we see no need to continue it.
We refunded your money and gave you extra traffic to compensate any other losses.
You initially bought $70 worth of clicks, was happy with the results.
Bought $300 worth of clicks, became unhappy with the results.
We refunded you $300,
We gave you 238.000 clicks for free, which was worth about $165

So in the end it didn't cost you anything, but we gave you $90 worth of free traffic. You claimed in the thread you made over $130 with our traffic at one point. So in the end you made a decent profit I gather.
But because you are unhappy with our support and our product (in may 2005) you keep on accusing us of things we don't do and keep making claims about our traffic by giving quotes (often from people who are still customers) which don't say anything and list urls to threads which don't say anything. As you can understand I am not a happy camper about this.
Infact, I believe Askjolene traffic is way better then most traffic out there. We use over 200 different affiliate programs and we convert overall 1:350, which is better then most other sites, including my own.

In order to resolve this situation I would like to propose the following;

A)
We give you $100 of free traffic on Askjolene which gives you the opportunity to test our traffic,

B)
Toine will help you by setting up your account and give you support to help you to convert.

C)
If you cant prove the clickfraud during this setup, you have to apologize to Toine and me.

Let me add my rant anyway.

Looks like a gallery, albeit an ugly one. All pics lead to toplist sites with exits out the ass. Now everyone knows it is risky to link to anything with a toplist or sexsearch (exceptions of course) links. If not day one, at some point they are liable to pickup some malware. So it is risky business to link to anyone with them. Again there are some rare excptions.

I think surfer accepts redirects on clicks to a gallery from a TGP, but not from a thumb in a gallery or a place like AskJolene. So most of us would just ban ya for that submisssion. I guess that includes AskJolene.

Yes, Baddog is an exception, I link to him.
