and about the comment about Jordan having a good supporting cast, yeah...but he was a great team player and made players around him better.

Until Kobe gets better teammates and learns how to play a team game...he will never win another championship. It isn't like this is news...Kobe has been a ball hog and known as one before he even stepped on an NBA court. It's not something that's going to change.

So James has better stats? LOL

Do they hand out rings for that?

Hey, what is James stats in deciding post season games? What are Kobes? Lebron is a great basketball player, but how do you know how he will handle a deciding game? You must know something everyone else doesn't know. We all had to wait to find out with Jordan and Kobe, however with James, he is tall and strong so he WILL be great haha

Until James gets there, you are being presumptious. I would say that with any young player.

I think Lebron will eventually be the best player in the NBA if he isn't yet.

Well now is a good time as any, Kobe will have a great teammate next year. Kevin Garnett might be a laker

Because he has won ever since he was a kind in high school. Pay attention to the game and then get in on this arguement. KOBE WILL NEVER WIN AGAIN UNTIL HE LEARNS TO PLAY A TEAM GAME...and in those 3 championships...who was the Playoff MVP? SHAQ.

From the Canadian Press:
"Phoenix ? Canadian Steve Nash is headed for a second straight NBA MVP award, according to the Arizona Republic.

The newspaper, citing a league source familiar with the voting, said the Suns point guard will become the 10th player to repeat as MVP. Magic Johnson is currently the only point guard to have won the award twice.

The Republic said the official announcement may not come for two weeks. But the votes have been tabulated in what was expected to be a close race with Nash, LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Chauncey Billups and Kobe Bryant."

The only stat that matters...64 wins...should have been Billups.

He has almost the same numbers as Nash, but actually plays some defense.

Head to head against Nash numbers:

27 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists
35 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists

For Nash:
18 points, 0 rebounds, 8 assists
13 points, 2 rebounds, 9 assists

Both Pistons victories. Nash got taken to school. Oh well, Billups will have to settle another finals MVP award.

Again...learn the game before you comment, you're making yourself look silly.

Cleveland has gone from the worst team in the league when LeBron has drafted...to a winning 50 games this year and in the playoffs for the first time in 8 years.

How can you compare Kobe's entire career to a player that has only been in the league 3 years?

Ben Wallace is the heart of that team. Billups is replaceable by a number of guards.

The NBA has had some fantastic players, and until you win championships you are nothing!

Magic, Bird, Jordan, Shaq (I hate the fucker), Kobe, all have multiple championships. They have made their marks in NBA history, Labron is an excellent player and he might break all the records, but will it be enough for him to win multiple championships? We will have to wait and see.

You look foolish...and show your lack of following the entire game.

You're one of those guys that hears Kobe scores 81 and thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

James has the greatest ever start to an NBA career.

Look L. James is a great player with great potentiel to be one of the greatest players in nba history, All I am saying is Kobe has proven himself as a clutch player and has hit the big shots and has won the big games before.

if you know LeBron's game, you know there are few in history like it...He's a special player that will win a lot of games/championships. It's not even a question...only question is how soon and how many.

He's taking Cleveland from the worst team in the league to one of the top in the East in 3 season (all at the age of 21)....think about it.

How many game winning assists and shots did James hit in the last month of the season? Not to mention he has won more player of the weeks/player of the months this season than anyone else.

LeBron's it. Do you think he'd have $120 million dollars in contracts before playing an NBA game if he wasn't?

He has done nothing but prove he's "it" ever since he started playing the game...from high school to the NBA. There's nothing more he could have done...Everyone expected greatness, but nothing like what he's done.

Start watching him, because you're going to miss something special if you don't.

Stats can be decieving. Look at Shaq, he is one of the top field goal percentage guys in the NBA and he cannot make a shot outside of 3 feet. (He cannot even shoot a jump shot, as he throws the ball at the rim or does a little baby hook shot.)

I remember watching an all star game when he launched a 3 pointer and it was the ugliest throw at the rim I've ever seen. So don't get bogged down in stats. There's more to the MVP then just scoring or beind a stats leader...

This was a very tight race as quite a few deserved it, but there can only be one mvp and Nash squeaked it out. Lebron would be a very close second for me and Kobe would be number 300 for me as rapists shouldn't get awards.

I dont think it is fair when some of you guys say Labron is the best or gonna be the best player in NBA hostory.

There have been some great players, players that have changed the game to what it is today. Jerry West, Iceman, Dr. J, Wilt, Kareem, Jordan, and the list goes on, it is not fair to call anyone current in the NBA now as the best player. Let us respect the game, and the former players, and make sure their accomplishments and not forgotten.

You do realize there are always a few "special players," as you term them, in every draft for every sport, every year!

Kobe was a phenom! Remember?

Everyone agrees Lebron is a supreme talent, you are the only one drinking beers in the ESPN Zone at 10am in the morning though!

You know what, this is Kobe's first playoffs since Shaq left...and James first of his career...start comparing what they do from now on.

Kobe will be home watching LeBron in the 2nd round.

2 playoff games for LeBron - 1 triple double. How many does Kobe have? Oh yeah none, you'd think he'd have all kinds...being that great team player and everything.

Dude, just get out before it is too late. This is a bad day in the upper deck of the Cavs stadium!

They are making room for the championship banners!

Hell, they have a crew working 24/7 hanging them already! They are going to announce the 2008 title next weekend!

Nash, no way...He has a lot of flash but he also turns the ball over too much relative to Billups (1st in NBA in assist:turnover ratio).

LBJ, maybe after he figures out how to hit a clutch shot. It wasn't until 3/4 of the way through this season that he finally hit a game winner for the first time in the NBA. Billups hits clutch shots all the time, like he did when the Pistons won the title.

If you dont win a championship you cannot be considered greatest, Look at Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing all great players who do not get talked about much like Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kareem and so on. Bottom line is you need a ring to be amongst the best.

You're probably almost right about 2008. They only need a couple pieces and they're there. If Hughes would have been healthy this year they would have won between 55-60 games.

Kobe will be home watching LeBron in the 2nd round.

2 playoff games for LeBron - 1 triple double. How many does Kobe have? Oh yeah none, you'd think he'd have all kinds...being that great team player and everything.

LBJ, maybe after he figures out how to hit a clutch shot. It wasn't until 3/4 of the way through this season that he finally hit a game winner for the first time in the NBA. Billups hits clutch shots all the time, like he did when the Pistons won the title.
Figures out? He hit two in the final month and has tons of game winning assists. It's hard hitting game winners when you're triple teamed.

Exactly!

[Insert Bannerdept comment here: Who is Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing? I have never heard of them]

no I know, because I know the game. When everytime LeBron's talked about and everything he does is only comparable to Jordan or Robertson...that's elite class. Those players were all great. Elite, no. Only 1-2 Elite players come along every 15-20 years

You honestly believe that Kobe isn't triple teamed? Dude, he lives with 3 defenders?

They went ahead and moved them into his home!

So BannerDept, while you are running PR for Lebron, comment on this:

Lebron said Kobe is the best player in the game and that he looks up to him. He has said Kobe has called him and gave him tips. He also said he is a long ways from being that good.

Did I say Kobe wasn't? Argue what I'm saying...don't put words in my mouth. I didn't mention Kobe at all there. I know he's triple teamed and hits big shots...never said he didn't.

If anyone could bring a valid arguement instead of BS to this it would be great.

So now LeBron's supposed to be full of himself saying he's the best?

and he was talking about Kobe's killer instinct if you paid attention...and he appreciated that part of his game and his scoring ability.

and if you noticed since that interview...and the past month of the season, LeBron was the leading scorer in the NBA in the 4th quarter...and won several games with last second shots and passes. LeBron wants to be great and works on every aspect of his game to be great.

btw...James was second in MVP voting Enough said.
