how much would you pay for someone's endorsement of your program?

i'm not talking just about sigs or regular sales rep stuff....

how much are you willing to pay to have more publicity for your program?

is there a way to judge this? a comission percentage? a flat monthly fee?

Endorsement of a program is one thing. Endorsement from someone universally considered reputable and beyond reproach is quite another.

I agree Ron, also depends how many times the person has 'sold' his endorsement within the industry and in similar 'markets'.

Not trying to sound trite here but... only around 100?

Please understand I'm not hating, that is just very interesting.

Then again, fleshlight must have had quite a few affiliates to begin with, thus making new ones a bit harder to accumulate.

Who knows.

My point exactly.

Assume for a second that someone that practically EVERYONE in an industry looks up to and respects, steps up and endorses a product/program for the very first time. People will most likely take notice.

If that same person starts endorsing everything that comes along, just to line their pockets, it gets old pretty fast and people will eventually see through it.

That person is worth a LOT more money the first time around than he is in subsequent endorsements. There certainly can be exceptions to that rule though.

It doesn't take talent to post pictures and make yourself look like an idiot on GFY. If you call that branding then anyone can do it.

And this wasn't directed at you. You know I like you =]

Yup - also to take into consideration is how well the prior ones endorsed were to affiliates. The spokesperson can be one hell of a person but if the companies they represented in the past have been 'bad' it kind of tarnishes they're 'endorsement' value.

I'll also agree with you, Ron, that there are exceptions to every rule.

The 'endorsement' & branding factor is more based on how much exposure, preferably in a good light, you can bring.

Some are swayed, some aren't, the important thing is that it's seen - and in some cases, if you should think of that person, you know what product to visualize them with - pictures are a good way of doing it ;)

that was 100+ in his first few months...imagine what it is up to now? also i would love to find a sales rep out there that can generate 100 new affiliates in that short of time.

i know i never did.

i mostly agree, but there are a few people out there that can do it over and over again, they are the rare few that choose quality things to promote with their name

To answer your question MrIzzz, it depends on product & if a similar product has been endorsed by that person in the past & is it a set amount of exposure time?

I also think that initially, a base fee with threshold amount would be good *say increase affiliates by 5% or 50 (depending on how 'doable' it is) and sales now are at X amount, average rebills are at Y & New business has been at and average of Z% - increase those amounts by X% and anything above that you get a commission.

You can also go for a straight - New Affiliates & Business get a commission for life of promotions.

Also, if it's something you know you can do well and want to make sure you don't get the shortend of the stick, I'd say go for a base that you're comfortable with and get lifetime commissions.

But that's 'my' Canadian

definitely a good way to calculate worth there. Of course, building a larger higher quality affiliate base is the main goal and that takes ability

Definitely - if the person is on a speed dial basis with whales, then you know they are worth far more than someone off the street - BUT remember that you have to be choosey of what you endorse & be sure that what you do is stable cuz those contacts will not follow the endorser everywhere at a loss. They're in it for money - you can be the sweetest, nicest, coolest, hottest - but when it comes down to money - everyone thinks of their pocket and rightly so. They'll still luv'em, but they won't switch links all the time cuz the person got a new gig.

The sky's the limit. Some companies go big, and some companies go home.

It's that simple.

I'm nowhere near as flamboyant or aggressive as juicy is, but I've put a fair number of new affiliates into PussyCash too in my tenure with flying their stuff in my sig. No small feat considering they are a very popular program and gaining popularity by the second.

Juicy does very well here, I'd say that fleshlight is/was a perfect match for his style of promotion to webmasters.

Izzz if you think nobody has done it like juicy you have some seriously low expectations. One person with a decent network can push 100 affilates to a new product / program in well under a month. I know people that could fire off an email and get 100 affiliates. As for what it's worth, if you can push big numbers it's worth a lot but 100 affiliates in 3 months is not what most programs will call "big".
