[QUOTE=faded]Now the truth comes out...well sort of. You don't run your own BGP. Heck you don't even know what an AS is. QUOTE]
First of all, Nick didnt make the mistake of the AS, that was me. I am one of the owners in the company long with Nick. My on-staff, on payroll server administrator and I had some confusion when he stated what an AS was over the phone. I heard atomic, he said autonomous. Miscommunication, nothing to kill someone about. Neither Nick nor I are the top techs in the world, we are out in the public running our companies doing sales and leave the techincal stuff to our server and network admins. For the record though, OUR network is run by PTP we have stated this time and time again in this thread. PTP runs OUR network, we pull bandwidth from multiple sources including PTP and we hook our switches and what not into their main backbone. If you look at their site, they provide nothing but high-leve colocation and network management. I can still give you a tour if you want, I will be there monday morning/afternoon installing more servers for the clients we have already got running. As for my background I have been in the hosting industry since 2000. (proof is my register date on WHT). I also ran UnlimBand.com in 2001-2003 when it was shutdown by multiple lawsuits from outside companies. I didnt have the resources or time to fight these lawsuits. If you go over to WHT you can see that and everything is documented. What else do you want Mr. Faded? If you still have any problems we can work these out face to face infront of Equinix. Jim |

Mr Faded, I have no real problems with you other than disrespecting Nick with his background. The main thing is, you started a whole bunch of unnecessary beef, we were truethful from the first post. We exposed everything about us maintaining a network on PTP when someone asked why PTP owned our IP Address space. Your beating a dead horse here, now I will continue to offer great hosting with the support of a great security name brand like PTP and maintain my own network Tear2Hosting (http://www.tear2hosting.com) and provide everything that is promised by my company. If anyone needs hosting please contact Nick (nick [a] tear2hosting.com) or call us directly at 240 - 396 - 5208. Thanks everyone! Jim |

Rumble at Equinix. Rumble at Equinix. You bring your bois and I'll bring mine. ok? bwhahahaha |
Quote:
I'm curious on a couple points, since you bring them up. 1. What other networks other than PTP are you 'pulling bandwidth from'? 2. You say 'switches' - plural. What kind and how many. Lets just get it all out in the open and be done with it. |
Quote:
On Payroll as in, you call up when you need something done and they charge you by the hour? Thats pretty much the definition of smart hands or remote hands etc. Calling them 'on payroll' implies they work directly for your company. |

If you handled the business end of things you would know wether you spent thousands of dollars on this kind of equipment and not have to ask your "tech". So is it your tech who writes the checks for this stuff? You should change your tag under your name to "The dirty Bullshitter" |

Keep it up keyboard warrior! Keep hiding behind a fake name too, or do you want to expose who you really work for. Jim |

I dont even know why I continue to arge with you, but whatever...it gives us page views. Payroll yes, smart hands NO. We have pretty much a full time tech running our networks, being paid by our company on a salary. :thumbsup Jim |

1. Through arrangements with PTP we pull a wide variety of bandwidth, those arrangements include a mixture of Cogent, Tiscalis, Nlayer, At&T and many more. We also have our own reps from each company who work closely with us to provide us with bandwidth through PTP's main Equinix pop. 2. Switches - Plural yes. Cisco/Linksys are used on each rack. Anything else you would like to know? Thanks! Jim |

i'm well awareof my equinix contrat i have cabinets in 3 facilities, ash-f ash-g and saccacus NJ Oddly enough you can also put in a smart hands ticket to have pictures taken of your equipment. Maybe i had a ticket to have pictures taken. Honestly it ust sounds that you colo with PTP.. no big deal lots of people do. I just don't know why you don't have your own cage was it because ash-g is out of space? wait till ash-E comes online late this year early next. why don't you post your cage? i'm cage 5000 rack 901 in ash-g. cage 1600 in ash-f not sure on the cabinet number on that one. |
besides i'm 99% confident my cabinet is right next to PTP since their UNSECURE wireless AP gives me full 5 bars while i'm there free bandwidth! i should throw up a wireless bridge and start having some fun!

Ashburn G isnt out of space yet. Last time I was there about 4 or 5 days ago they had plenty of unused space around our location. Instead of expanding into ashburn-E we are probably going to work in collaboration with PTP and pull a few racks down over in the Switch & Data Datacenter out in Reston, VA. We have been pricing out racks over there as well as dark fiber runs back to Equinix Ashburn-F and it all looks like a green light for us. If you are in cage 5000 you are very close to us, if nothing else I would love to meet another GFYer face to face. Maybe we could work a deal out between our companies. I assure you our company staff is much more knowledgable about the techincal side of hosting than myself and Nick. Jim |
