That smooth, overdone editing of pics....
Can't say I really like it or dislike it, but I have always been interested in how it's done exactly? any info?

There are several ways to achieve that look.. but smart blur is a good one to do some "quick" editing

Smart Blur works ok for me. Not sure of any other ways though.

I hate it... fucking looks like crap.
But if you are looking for a quick way to get a soft look here ya go: Make 2 duplicate layers of your photo make the Blending Mode of the first layer to Lighten and the second to Darker. Do about a 20 radius Gaussian Blur on both layers. Make the Lighten layer 35% Opacity, the Darken layer 20% you can then make a new layer and do a combine Visible on the layer (Option Key or alt Key Layer:Combine Visible) and the turn of the Ligthen and Darken layers, and mask out the eyes, nostrils, hair, and any background you don't want to have the soft look... |

Ok it's definitely Smart Blur haha, just always wanted to try it myself. Im definitely not a fan of it, but thought in case I ever needed to use it or something similar might as well learn. Thanks all!
And thanks for the tips on the softening.
