Many ways to get that.

I use smart blur in PS.

There are several ways to achieve that look.. but smart blur is a good one to do some "quick" editing

Smart Blur works ok for me. Not sure of any other ways though.

I hate it... fucking looks like crap.

But if you are looking for a quick way to get a soft look here ya go:

Make 2 duplicate layers of your photo
make the Blending Mode of the first layer to Lighten and the second to Darker.

Do about a 20 radius Gaussian Blur on both layers.

Make the Lighten layer 35% Opacity, the Darken layer 20%

you can then make a new layer and do a combine Visible on the layer (Option Key or alt Key Layer:Combine Visible) and the turn of the Ligthen and Darken layers, and mask out the eyes, nostrils, hair, and any background you don't want to have the soft look...

:thumbsup

Ok it's definitely Smart Blur haha, just always wanted to try it myself. Im definitely not a fan of it, but thought in case I ever needed to use it or something similar might as well learn. Thanks all!

And thanks for the tips on the softening. :)
