But if you are looking for a quick way to get a soft look here ya go:
Make 2 duplicate layers of your photo
make the Blending Mode of the first layer to Lighten and the second to Darker.
Do about a 20 radius Gaussian Blur on both layers.
Make the Lighten layer 35% Opacity, the Darken layer 20%
you can then make a new layer and do a combine Visible on the layer (Option Key or alt Key Layer:Combine Visible) and the turn of the Ligthen and Darken layers, and mask out the eyes, nostrils, hair, and any background you don't want to have the soft look...

Ok it's definitely Smart Blur haha, just always wanted to try it myself. Im definitely not a fan of it, but thought in case I ever needed to use it or something similar might as well learn. Thanks all!
