I dont know...with RSS its hard to tell really! Because part of the purpose of RSS is to offer the content for syndacation...

For ex: some blogs offer an RSS feeds that will display only the first 30 or so words of the article, with a link to their blog for the original article... When you do something like that, you pretty much know that people will grab your content and publish it elsewhere if you ask me... I mean..isnt that the whole purpose of it?

i always ask for permission before syndicating someone's blog content. and i also only publish the first few sentences (or whatever they have placed in their 'summary' section).

RSS is incredible for legit purporses (building exposure for your content, links etc). regular hardlinks with only the anchor text is less attractive to the surfer than a dynamic title and summary that changes daily.

the problem is, it's very easy to poach someone's content using RSS without ever exposing it to the original author. as stated above, you can rewrite the links so that no traffic/link value goes back to the original author. as with anything online, the best tools also make for the best spamming mechanisms.
