Yes and no. What you have done outside this thread was right. Though, having done it along WITH THIS thread it makes it wrong.

You're simply two faced. You are pretending to be the big bad program owner. Who is calling out these babeblogs, saying you are going to kill their accounts. Saying you don't need their traffic or sales. That you won't loose sleep over not having them as affiliates. Slinging the shit and dragging names through the mud. All the while off the board you do the complete opposite. By kissing ass, running damage control, and cunducting new biz deals. With the same people you are supposedly outing.

Like I said, I'm perfectly fine with leaving this thread. I don't care about what the hordes of GFYers think of my rep. So if you want to twist the public's eye of what is happening here. That is fine with me. I'm content knowing what is really happening behind the scenes.

Kissing Ass? LOL I think you have the wrong person. I stand for what I posted in this thread. I'm not going to let blogs, tgps or free sites misuse our promo content. When our content is misused it hurts all of our affiliates and i'm not going to work any private deals to let that happen. I said I could live without blog traffic and I could. If all blogs pulled their Twistys links Twistys would not cease to exist. That doesn't mean I don't want to do business with blogs. What I have been doing is working on solutions to solve the problem and keep everybody happy.

I'm anything but two faced. I stand but what i've said in this thread. The one thing I made a mistake on was the fusker comment regarding Bods. That wasn't correct. I still believe that layout promoting other sponsors between pics is wrong.

what everybody is missing here is a very important point. I mean, you place content for a site because you consider it good and you know your surfers will like that content and eventually sign thru your link, cha-ching. Now, it's common sense not to distract the attention from anything other than the sponsor to which the content belongs. I mean: you won't find that content anywhere else than the sponsor's site itself. Now, there must be a few newbies not knowing this, a few that will count on "sale by opposition" marketing (I can count with the fingers of one hand how many know about this technique) and a vast majority of people promoting other sponsors because the main sponsor for that content simply isn't converting. The question is: are sponsors taking notice of this? I know 99.99% of program owners will say "my site converts like mad", and of course, what else will they say? Sad thing is most of them really believe it.

In short, not pointing to anyone, but most behaviors and patterns have causes, maybe it's time for those in the know to research a little about them

From what I saw, they are HOSTING those galleries and are paying for the BW so why shouldn't they be allowed to upsell AFF? I upsell dating and vigra on just about everything I do. But then again, I put WAY more into the topic of discussion than these people are.

I write my own text and promote the FUCK out of your program first and for most. The dating is kept to the side as a 'side thing' and so are the pills. If you look at one of my pages it is obvious who I am promoting and if they just happened to be interested in the dating, well, that is there too.

If you put that in your FHG's, I'd probably not use them...

The truth is, I sell a lot of porn and only a little dating or toys or pills compared to the porn. But then I don't want to piss off sponsors I sell porn for...

So I guess my point here is that it isn't black and white. There is a huge gray area and you chose some grayish affiliates to some degree but they are no where near the middle.

Was that to prove a point? I dunno, you usually answer me so I will look forward to one. But if that was your point, do you also see mine that it could have been done differently and possibly not pissed you off?

When I read your title I thought for sure this thread was about someone using your pics to promote AFF! As in, making a geo banner of their own with your pics in that banner. What you are complaning about is almost apples and oranges to that kind of blatent disregard for your copywrite.

But... I also noticed now that those affiliates where kinda making galleries that promoted dating... I was talking about I make sites that promote the sponsor and have a small dating ad, but the galleries I never put ads into... So perhaps some of my post is now moot.

No idea how I missed this thread but it's amazing some of the responses. I can see there are still tons of people who don't understand how sponsor content is supposed to work.

If I may ask, can you show me what you didn't like and the end result of how it was switched to what you did so I can avoid making the same mistakes in the future?

With this type of answer you don't make yourself famous with the webmasters of babelogs that try to bring you to a higher level. I worked my ass of the last months for Twistys and when i see this type of answers, this makes me 'sad'.

I think that first step should be contacting website owner and telling him that You don't like this way of promoting...

You say it makes you sad when I post that. I understand you are trying to defend your friends. The sad part is alot of those friends are blatantly misusing the content provided by your sponsors. The same sponsors that provide you your way of life. :disgust

My take as an outside observer is... I disagree with most or all of what you said here. After re-reading page one of this thread I again get the impression that Shap contacted those webmasters prior to starting this thread. Read his post where he says that a few of them agreed to fix/change a few things, while others argued with him and refused to cooperate with his rules.

In light of that, this thread is completely understandable in my view. He could have just gone ahead and killed their accounts outright with no chance for a dialogue, right? I'm sure some program owners would have. Seems to me Shap has been for the most part quite reasonable in his tone here, even when responding to those who obviously have a skewed and boneheaded attitude.

Shap isn't the first program owner to demand that his stuff appear on affiliate pages alone with no other sponsors. I can think of a few that have had this same rule in place for over 7 years in their TOS.

Lastly, I don't see it as Shap trying to trash anyone's name here. However, the fact is and has always been that when you flout the rules of a program and that program asks you to make a few changes and you flat out refuse to cooperate, you run the risk of A) being shitcanned, B) getting called out on the boards, or C) both.

Final thought: Affiliates need to either follow the rules of the programs they choose to promote, or find other programs to promote that don't mine having their rules broken (or ones that don't have such rules).

Btw, I'm not affiliated with Shap's program in any way.

As a paysite owner with a good amount of quality content, we have quite a few bloggers using TeenDreams content for their pages.

What we try to do is keep a track on the amount of content they use, and if they generate sales to TD

Ones that generate zilch and are blatantly abusing our content to up sell get struck off, and ones that can generate a couple of sales a week we let pass.

As long as watermarks are intact, some kind of banner or link to TeenDreams is present, and the page looks like it has been constructed to sell TD and not a Penis enlargement product, then we let it pass.

We have seen guys who have posted entire sets on one page and used a tiny text link at the bottom to refer to where the content came from. They got the elbow:2 cents:

I agree with Shap, that some of the people should be a little more careful with the blogging. that is HIS content, and they are someone using it to promote other sites. I also understand that they are in this to make money, and that the only way to do that is to promote other aff programs as well. But they need to make sure that they put a seperation betewwn the posts.
