That's your story. From what I watched of miles of news footage it certainly looked like the Serb forces, situated up in surrounding hills, were shelling towns and cities indescriminantly, reining havoc down on the "terrorists" who were trying to get on with their day and walk down the street to the market.

No, it's about going into a situation and helping people in need during a crisis. False reasons? I think you are deluded my friend. There were plenty of solid reasons to go in and help. plenty. There was an outcry from the Kosovo border from 100's of thousands of people running for their lives, a cry to the world for aid and assistance. If we hadn't answered that call I'm sure everyone over there would be criticizing us the other way, "Oh they don't care about anyone but themselves! Canada and USA and Britain etc don't care!"....

Tell me, what business did the serbs have in attacking and shelling Sarajevo? Explain the reports of serb soldiers executing people on the streets, destroying people's houses and businesses, and raping young girls please.


Again, the Serb army had no business even being there. I remember seeing news footage of the Serbs situated in the hills surrounding Sarajevo, the shelling from the serb heavy guns was constant. I remember thinking "I can't wait for US, Canadian and British air wing's to blow those fucking Serbian pop guns to smithereens"..... and they did.

Even some people in Nazi Germany called what Hitler did "a police action".... calling it a legal action doesn't make it right. And pointing the finger at Africa and saying "how come no one does anything there? Only here!?" is a childish argument. Fact is there ARE things being done about other "aggressions", you just don't always see it because NATO and the US don't have YOU on speed-dial.

I'll give you this though.... in war there are rights and wrongs and shades of gray on both sides. I'm not such a fool as to think that there was zero provocations against the Serbs, I'm sure they had good reason to do certain things. But can you not agree that had orders not been given to attack militariliy in the first place that there would have been no war?

There are other ways of handling terrorists in a situation like that one than rolling in your war machine military and sending nearly half a million people and surrounding territories and countries into chaos, isn't there? Too bad your former dictator is dead, you could have asked him.

Hm interesting thread.

I noticed is a lot of people are giving their comments backed up with arguments, which is all really neat. The funny thing is that most of these smart asses are from countries far away from the balkan region, yet they know so fucking much its amazing.

The situation in the balkans in the 90's was very complex. There were 3 armies fighting each other and a number of paramilitary groups operating. A lot of people of all nationalities were killed - innocent civilians and also children. But to blame a single nation or a single leader for that mess is plain simple stupid.

Most of the people in the region dont even know what the fuck happened and who was shooting who and who killed who, by whose orders and why... yet all of you smartasses far away know the exact picture of what happened.. right ?

There's a rule in human history. What is less than 50 years old is recent history and the objective facts for that period can not be given, becuase the happenings have not settled yet and a new unbiased generation who can be the judge of actions is not in control yet.

So please dont post your idiotic arguments here, the whole thing was so fucked up that even the people who live in or near the involved countries dont know what the fuck happened.

Also... you might not know this, but the greatest fear now regarding the Balkan region is that the radical parties would once again take control of Serbia ,and the democratization process would stop.

If you dont know yet, the WW2 was caused because Germany was fucked badly after WW1. They were humilated and that led to the rise of Adolf Hitler and WW2.

Serbia is in similar situation as Germany was after WW1. It would be wise of the world to offer them support and understanding during this time.

If you can not understand what I am reffering to, dont bother. Please continue behaving in your ignorant ways, you are the all-knowing super-dooper gfy board master, and what you say is gold.
