Umm supermicro is not really a high end server, and every host knows supermicro. Most use their servers to host on, i have a bunch but i prefer using ibm servers, less headaches

I use a ton of Supermicro servers. It's not exactly high end but it is pretty reliable.

We bought a ton of Supermicros when I was a sysadmin, mostly because they were cheap.

Dear Newbie,
Supermicro manufactures servers. Most every datacenter in the USA is filled with them. Yes they make servers with Xeon's in them too.

I thought they just made motherboards that were over priced compared to Abit/Asus/Tyan/Gigabyte

They were supposed to be really good when we had p2/p3 servers.

Nothing high end about supermicros. They are what I direct clients to who are too cheap to spring for a low end Dell server. Of course saying that I have no complaints about their quality. Haven't had a problem with one.
