Am I fucked?
Shes already pregnant at the start of the movie...the fact she falls in love with the guy is just the love that happens with the guy to protect her...no paradox at all....2 people come back in time if I remember correct (been awhile) and one is trying to kill her (arnold) and one to protect her( the lover) she was pregnant at the start,? anyways great movie, and the other two sucked i thought

nope time is an encapselation of space , you have both forward and backward movement as well as sideways. The theory of relativity exist for up to 27 (i believe a phd friend of mine tried to explain it to me but i could rap my head around the math) dimensional contructs (if you assume the barrier of the speed of light mirrors existance).

There is no paradox. The answer is simple. Sarah Connor never revealed the identity of her child's father, so Skynet did not know that sending the Terminator was the mistake that allowed Sarah and Kyle Reese to meet and mate to produce the leader of the human resistance, John Connor.

Maybe it's possible just to watch things and not being able to interract with them, kinda as if you were dead and watching ancient people or future people, live ... But that looks more like living a dream rather than living itself.
Otherwise, how can time travel be possible, if you are able to change history, kill your parent(s) before them giving birth to you, and more paradoxes ...

But what I'm saying is why would Skynet single out Sarah the very first time? It seems like in the series, history keeps repeating itself (they keep sending back someone, but the inevitable keeps happening). What I want to know is why would Skynet send someone back the very very very first time to kill Sarah Connor? Because if they didn't, then Kyle never would have porked her.

I dunno, but I hope there is a lot of war/fight scenes with tons of the machines in the next sequel. The last movie was a let down.

your missing the point in a pre-destination paradox effect preceeds cause.

Your looking at it as a cause /effect situation which does not apply.

In a history is immuntable senario (pre-destination paradox) you must look at the time stream from a period after loop is completed, with every event in the loop considered to be a historical event.

The start of the loop is skynet sending the terminator into the past.

That is why it is a theory and not a proven fact. In order to conclude that a theory is true you need a testable hypothesis that, through a true experiment will yield empirical data to either support or deny the hypothesis formulated to support the theory.
