Question for you Video Editing Guru's
I'm editing some video that I shot with my GL2 using Sony Vegas 6. My question is this: What Is the best format (wmv, avi etc.) to save it in and what size (320x240, 640x480 or 720x480)?
The videos will be used on the web. Thanks

WMV appears to be the most widely used format, although not the best quality in my opinion. Size depends on what you are looking to use it for. If you are showcasing your work and dont mind larger file sizes go for 640x480. If it is for a tour page 320x240 appears to be industry standard.

Well, your question is pretty vague.
We'd need to know WHAT are you putting on the web? Full scenes? trailers? etc. And usually people like to give different options for people to view their clips. Most common options are : WMV and MPEG (Hi and Low res-version of each). A generic specification would be Hi-res : 640x480 at 1100 kbps Low-res : 320x240 at 300 kbps But its all variable depending on your tastes. Personnally, for trailers, I like to send them out at 640x480 and at 700 kbs, so the quality is good, but the download doesn`t take too much Bandwidth. Oh, and don't forget, if you're exporting at 4:3 (640x480), make sure your pixel aspect ratio is at SQUARE PIXELS (not at 0.9 DV pixels), otherwise your video might look a bit squeezed.
