do you ever think about how horrible it will be when your significant other dies?

assuming you live long enough and you stay with the same person, they will die some way or another. man, it really sucks to think about.

I was recently very close to a person who thought about that all the time, and it had a negative impact on our relationship. Be careful how much you think about stuff like that.

Live everyday with them like it will be the last. One day, somehow, that day will come...

My opinion is that is pretty normal, and I would say a natural thought as a relationship progresses and the bond gets stronger.

I think more about what happens to her when I die.
I'll probably die in a few years due to stress and overweight.

haha, well that is all of course avoidable... you kill 2 birds with one stone when ya exercise and eat right... you eliminate a lot of stress, and you won't be overweight!

Fuck no.
If I exercise, I'll become even more stressed. My stress is all about my workload.
18 hours non-stop/day..and I still get left behind on my schedule.

Well look at it from another point of view. How would it be if you would die first and your significant other would be left in sorrow. Try not to think about it too much, it's one of those things that is called life, and it will be inevitable.

Yes I have thought about it quite a few times and have to just stop myself because it can just make you crazy thinking about it.

There is a song by Leanne Rimes that has says "i never pictured every minute without you in it". I heard that the other day and just thought it about it....

Trust me it hurts more than you can imagine. One year and three months later and I still have nightmares about watching him die pretty much every night. It is odd when you get used to nightmares. There are daymares too. I tell people my brain is like a monitor that was left on too long and has an image burnt into it. When I am busy and doing stuff the image might not be as visible but the second my brain is allowed to rest and all the foreground images are gone I am left with this series of images that just stay there.

However, for some reason life makes you go on. If nothing more than because they would want you to go on living.

My only advice - if you possibly can prepay your funeral and at the very least make sure each of you know exactly what you want to happen to you after you die. It makes it a lot easier when people are buzzing around you to be able to flatly say 'no. This is what he/she wanted'.
