Hey guys, I am going to buy a camera for amateur footage/webcam soon and I have a few links... I was wondering if some of you knowledgable webmasters know what camcorder I should choose and why. I have limited knowledge with these devices. Thanks in advance for all of your help. #1 http://cgi.ebay.com/PANASONIC-PVGS150-PV-GS150-CAMCORDER-980-KIT-NEW_W0QQitemZ7585335122QQcategoryZ20330QQrdZ1QQcmd ZViewItem #2 http://cgi.ebay.com/CANON-ELURA-85-DIGITAL-CAMCORDER-DELUXE-KIT-EXTRAS_W0QQitemZ7584744667QQcategoryZ20330QQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem #3 http://cgi.ebay.com/CANON-ZR400-DIGITAL-MINIDV-CAMCORDER-DELUXE-KIT-EXTRA_W0QQitemZ7584756287QQcategoryZ20330QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem OR SHOULD I GO WITH A DIFFERENT ONE ALL TOGETHER? What Should I look for? Just need good mini DV with good webcam and nice quality. I have the money for a CCD so I dont need to go cheaper. I like gadgets so more bells and whistles are attractive. What do you guys think??? ![]()

I'd probably go with that 3ccd Panasonic. I've seen some footage from it that looked pretty good.

Thanks bro, Yea the panasonic seemed like the best dollar for dollar... It seems to have the best optical/digital zoom... 10x/700x! and I could get the wide angle lense with filters and all that jazz, should produce some pretty nice amateur footage...

Zoom is something the manufacturers like to sell, but the only thing that really matters is the picture / color quality. Not sure what your price range is, but the Sony HC1 supports 1080i HD and is a real steal. Abes of Maine has it for $1367. That's the camera I'd recommend to anyone in the market. http://www.abesofmaine.com/viewproduct.asp?id=snhdrhc1 |

I have been running a webcam site since 1997, used allot of different cameras, started initially with a little quickcam.
in general, almost any camcorder will do fine, if it has a decent picture when you demo it in the store it will work fine. What you need a good one of is the capture card. I use the vidium from winnov ( www.winnov.com ) works flawless with all software. |
