:mad PAYPAL sucks!

anyone here use them? They froze my account 2 weeks ago, required I fax them a driver's license, bank record, utility bill... I did so and no reply. It is impossible to talk to them on the phone. Fuckers pretty much stole my money and gave me NO reason. Avoid PayPal.

I fucking love PAYPAL! Don't jerk with them and they wont jerk with you. You folks need to get a grip on the fact that to avoid frauds, you sometimes have to sacrifice some simplicity. You want them to be another IBill for fucks sake? I can call them on the phone anytime and talk to a nice, friendly person who will get my shit squared away.

LONG LIVE PAYPAL

If you act by their rules, it's guaranteed that nothing will happen. They are tougher than others, and probably don't give another chance.

It has already been said and I agree....either you fucked up and jerked them somehow OR they saw a red flag on your account and are just double checking things. As for the phone thing.... I can call and get through very quickly. The longest I have ever had to hold for them was about 10 mins.

I don't know about pay pal. I heard of A LOT of people getting accounts frozen for NO reason and the CEO has said in an inteview that they DELIBERTLY make the phone # hard to find on thie site so peole with complaints will just give up and not call. That's not the attitude of a SERIOUS company is it? He also basically said that he doesn't want to be bothered with people that have complaints and they can basically fuck off. At least he honest about not giving a shit about customer service.

I doubt seriously any ceo in their right mind would say something like this.

You are talking about the fastest growing company in online transactions.

Either provide a link to this interview or a transcript of the televised interview...or a place where we could purchase said transcript
or
shut the fuck up and go in the kitchen and make me a sammich bitch!

"As for the eBay user complaints, Sollitto said the company reads them, but takes them with a grain of salt, believing many of the complaints to come from a vocal minority of squeaky wheels."

Takes customer complaint with a grain of salt? in a REAL business ALL customer complain no matter what you thunk about them SHOULD be taken seriously.

" As for the customer service, Sollitto said they intentionally make the phone number very difficult to find in order to save costs."

Save costs my ass. Any who would purposely HIDE their phone #
is trying to hide something and shouldn't be trusted.

Here's the whole article http://www.msnbc.com/news/511209.asp?cp1=1

Try logging into paypal and take the less than 1 minute it took me to locate their difficult to find contact #

Also if you have ever done biz on eBay you would take those ass wipes complaints with a grain of salt as well.

They complained when the company began to charge...they complained when they forced people doing business to upgrade to a business account...they complained about every little thing even tho' most of these dick weeds wouldn't qualify for a merchant account or couldn't afford one while paypal increased their business.

The only place more bitching goes on about a single company other than eBay's message boards is ars' boards...so it gives you an idea of the kind of whiney baby conspiratorial bullshit that gets spewed.

Now once again and this time I'll use my glove of love....

GET THE FUCK IN THE KITCHEN AND MAKE ME A SAMMICH BITCH!

hey I've signed up with pay pal a LONG time ago and I've even upgraded to a business account. I've WANTED to use them, but until I know that I will get my money then I won't. I can't afford to have Pay Pal use ANY excuse they feel like to keep my money, so why risk it?

Also I have logged in and the only phone # I can find is one for INVESTORS. Show me the link to where the CUSTOMER SERVICE phone # is.

When you log in try clicking on help.

On the help page there is a contact us link towards the bottom left of the page...click on that.

Then on the next page click on the customer service link and you will see a form...below that form is both the physical addy and the customer service #

I am sorry to say this, but Paypal rocks. I've been using them for almost a year and never had any problems whatsoever. I don't know. Maybe some people have strange transaction comments like

"Dude, this is for the dope. Enjoy dude".

No wonder why Paypal get suspicious..

Geez..

Ok so the phone # is THREE pages deep and even then you only get the # after you click another link to get the form to come up. That's EASY? here's a VERY simple question, why not put the phone # on the 1st or 2nd page? Went to the website of my local bank and guess what, 1 click to a phone #, not hard to find at all.

In order to save money.

There is no reason for you to call them on every single issue...they have enough forms and email contact info for that.

But it is not difficult to find...any dipshit with half a brain can find a link that is only 3 deep by following clearly defined terms and links like "help"..."contact us"..."customer service department."

What they don't want is for that to be the first step when there is no reason for it.

We use PayPal as a payment option for webmasters and send out some very large amounts of money without any problems at all.

The only problem I personally ever had was a few months ago when they froze my personal account. However it was my own fault.
I had my credit card stolen the week before, and of course had it deactivated by my bank and a new one issued. I forgot to update the info in PayPal. The first transaction I made I though I made a mistake on when it was denied, so I tried again.. The second denial had my account frozen.
I faxed them my deatils and it was fixed up within 5 or 6 days.
Never any other problems.

Jason.

Ive never had any problem with PayPal, and I run some large content accounts through them. The first time I ran $4,000 through them, they called to double-check all was cool. Ive met and talked to a few of their people at the shows. My account was restricted recently because my husband lost his credit card, and was issued a new one, and we didnt update the information. I called one of the people I met at the Phoenix Forum, faxed him my info, and he had my account active that same day. Only complaint I have is that if I set up a rebilling option through them for my clients that lease content, I have to pay 9-15% because we are an adult business, which I find to be bullshit... my service runs 0% chargebacks. But how can you tell someone not in this industry that chargebacks come from surfers, not established companies and webmasters?

They are the tops.
We had our first charge back in six months. Client ordered $80 and then decided she wanted $110

Took Paypal 3 days to check it and then we are back on line.

I love the idea that they want to see if you got the charge against your card before they authorise you. We get people all the time from Croatia and Ukraine saying they can not buy via Paypal, can we do it with another CC company.

No good for the membership sites, but we have people charging $1,000 against their cards.

No love them

hehe... some webmasters are so naive! I like that. I fucking like that!

Anyway I thought PayPal fucking rocks until I got my account restriced/frozen. LUCKILY I used them only for sending money and nothing else so I didn't lose any money. Well.... I fucking did because I had to wire money instead and that costed me a week...

Anyway it's like STD - it can''t happen to you until it happens.

ALWAYS have in mind that PayPal can froze your accont and you can kiss your money goodbye (if you have any on their account) and when it comes to explaining why, you won't get any answers. They are deaf for that. I tried it. All they say is fax a bunch of personal info in their autoresponder email and that's all you are gonna get when it happens.

Be careful.

And if you believe so strong in PayPal read some UGLY shit on this sites:

http://paypalwarning.com/
http://paypalsucks.com/

I expect more webmasters will get burned by them. Tomorrow it can be just you. I didn't think much about it (as you don't now) untill it happened. But I was lucky I had no money in their account.

What about you?

Heh, rah rah rah! paypal rocks!

Bah.

I refuse to use paypal due to their general incompetence/uncaringness. Had a problem (won't go into details, since the paypal pushers will refuse to acknowledge the company can make a damned mistake) a while back which resulted in me being out a couple hundred bucks from a SYSTEM ERROR. Jesus christ, no fraud, nothing. Just a poor job of coding by some paypal fuck, and they just didn't fucking care.

Thus my business, and anyone I have influence over does not use them.

Ok, I have been using them for over a year mostly for EBay transactions. I have been 100% legit and I have much better things to do with my time than scam PayPal.

Obviously a transaction I made triggered their fraud filter and froze my account. Fair enough, but it has been over 3 weeks now and they will not given me a reason. The phone support people are incompetent and have no access to my account. They are still MAKING MONEY on interest on the money in my account. I would let this go if they provided a legitimate reason and contacted me within 24 hours and we could resolve it. They are not a real bank.

My advice is use them if you must, but keep a balance of 0 at all times. Online payments rock, I hope another company can step up to the plate and do a better job.

I went to Help, I went to Contact Us, I went to Customer Service Department, I chose the correct option, "Restriction Appeal" and all I got was a fucking EMAIL FORM THAT NO ONE RESPONDS TO. Where is the phone number?

Its sending me in a loop through their FAQ system, I think I found it once but I can't get to it again. Reputable companies have it clearly visible, or at least 1 or 2 clicks away. NOT FUCKING 10 CLICKS

What they don't want is for that to be the first step when there is no reason for it.
