So I passed the first step of my motorcycle examination yesterday...

I passed my theory exam! WOO HOO!!!

now what is left is to take the practice courses on the closed circuit, do the close circuit exam, and then do the road exam 8 months after that, and by next summer, I'm driving a bike baby!!!

My friend is going for a more powerful one after about 3 months of driving it, so I might just take it off of him

My distant cousin and his friend died on an R1.
Too many crazy drivers on the road for a bike.

Congrats on passing the test!!

Make sure you practice those figure 8's!

Also, don't go small on the bike. Get what you want the first time. If you buy small, within 6 months it'll be for sale and you'll be buying the bigger bike anyway. Just becasue it is fast, doesn't mean you have to go fast! As you learn, and build confidence you'll appreciate and respect the bike.

My first bike is a Yamaha Roadstar Warrior, and I'm glad I didn't go with a smaller bike. I want to get a racer next. Fucking love riding!!

Good Luck and Be Safe!!
Papi!

I called Tecnic school in Laval, they offered us english classes (you need to be at least 3 people for the classes to take place) its 9 hours of theory in the classroom, and then I believe 12 hours on the circuit and on the road.

You do NOT need to take the 9 hours in the classroom. I took them because my business partner gave me the whole lesson kit as my bday gift. My friend just studied for the exam 1 day before the exam with me, and he passed as well as I did. However, it's always better to spend 9 hours to get to know a motorcycle and all of its features and safety measures in detail.

Get an appointment for the exam now if you can, so if you fail you have time to wait 1 month and take the exam again, so this way you dont waste quality summer days that you could be doing your road practices on.

if you have any other questions, ICQ me: 178-340-550

actually ducati is ok. very nice light weight good handling bike. the dry clutch is a little different feel than wet clutch, and if you are riding mostly in urban area i would recommend one less tooth on CS sprocket to make your starts from a dead stop smoother.

i have a 98 ST2 and a hayabusa, and the duc is just as reliable as the suzuki.

make sure you change the cam belts every 10K or so, and if you are not handy have your dealer shim the valves, change your oil every 2-3k miles.

truth is the monster is very reliable if you maintain by the book and don't abuse it. some gal won a "ironbutt" rally on one and i think she put like 80K miles on hers before it was totaled in an accident.

wear your helmet and ride defensively, best to run with loud pipes because it alerts vehicles in next lane that you are there.

good luck. ducatis are chick magnets.
