I wonder how many, other than Alien, have companies that would have been eligible for an XBiz award. I don't see any nominees complaining. If you don't own a company that may have been eligible but did not get the nod, what do you care? Seriously.

Don't forget about me.
I was a judge too. They should just have me judge the whole thing like I do for the Big Woody Awards.

if i was xbiz, to kill the controversy i'd go with a third party mainstream auditing company that gets a select criteria of unknown focal points to judge on.
those companies nominated by their industry peers would be judged on numerous criteria to which they have no knowledge of. i think that the general population of the programs out there know what people are looking for in a great program. it would take me about an hour to write that for them, and i am sure that a ton of other people could submit their ideas of what a successful, prominent program should consist of. the third party auditing company (like the ones used by hollywood and such) would then go behind closed doors and without knowledge from anyone in the business, decide who is the winner of each category based on the facts at hand. having any one person or even people that are in the biz judge is what is making the "scammer" alarms go off with some people. i think the main problem and controversy with people who are upset with xbiz is that people within the industry are judging other people. we all know how small this industry is and relationships are confined to a tight circle. these relationships are strong on many many parallels. i think thats why people are concerned. i personally could care less if i win anything. i like money more than awards. we did not win an xbiz award and i didn't think that anything was "fixed" or slanted. thats just me though. my two cents. |
