Are there any recommended sushi bars in Las Vegas.

A good recommendation gets you and a guest an invitation to dinner.

My picks are more "locals-oriented" picks

Sushi On Trop, a couple miles off the strip, but damn good and all you can eat for $24.95

Fukudos on Sunset Road is also really good. They are a teppanyaki place, but have great sushi as well

Anthony you can never ever go wrong with Nobu and yes there is a Nobu in Vegas. Or cheaper there is always Yoko Hama Sushi.

One day we will have to go for sushi in Montclair , i know a place that is one of the best in NJ. It is as good as it gets in NJ

I think I know that sushi place you're speaking of in Montclair. If you going to be in Vegas look me up.

Lance "was" a local and we went to dinner there with him a few hands of fingers ago at that same place. I love sushi and that place was excellent. He's not much into the bait though as I recall. ;)

yup, a local for almost 14 years now

Nobu is pretty good too

Bill, I can handle the bait, just not big on urchin or salmon (I like it smoked, but the sushi is a little strong), and yeah, that place rocked and still does. We've had a lot of Vegas webmaster gatherings there.

I think that they opened a Sushi Roku in Vegas and I believe there is a Raw sushi there as well. They are both excellent Choices.

Tsunami in the Venetian shops is my favorite. The sushi place at the Hilton is great too, but I seem to recall the one at the Hard Rock sucks.

Nobu at the Hard Rock is first rate. There are also some nice local joints. "I Love Sushi" is one of my favs, but it's a decent way off the strip. Sykk had some nice recommendations as well.

Hey man, long time no talk
we'll have to get another Vegas Webmaster gathering thing happening again after the show...I found this amazing little thai place that would be perfect for it

Other than their jalapeno yellowtail appetizer, they don't do much for me. Same with Sushi Roku. Overpriced and more trendy than I'd like.

If it's the RA chain from Phoenix, it's AMAZING.

All good suggestions!

Brandi and I are what you might call sushi snobs and while nobu and tao have incredible atmospheres our vote would be Sushi Roku at Caesars Palace

Best Sushi in Vegas
Posted by stephaniejay on 03/10/2005

Went to Roku for the first time on Friday. We go to the one in Santa Monica usually. Very similar to Nobu at the Hard Rock but with an amazing view of the strip from our table. The sashimi was as fresh as in LA and the staff was nice and high energy. Great spot for Las Vegas.

Pros: View, Fresh
Overall user rating: Highly Recommended

Best Sushi in Vegas....Better than NOBU
Posted by miked1234 on 07/10/2005

The outstanding combination of food service and ambiance has completely blown me away with this restaurant. No detail was left behind and nothing but impecable service.

Pros: Best View
Overall user rating: Highly Recommended

Hidden Gem
Posted by ferbs12 on 09/27/2005

This hidden Gem in the corner of the third floor at the Caesar's Forum shops is incredible. Go for dinner or even better make it over there for happy hour where you'll receive unheard of deals on sushi and drinks at the bar. Try and make it Wednesday through Friday evenings when Ryan is behind the bar. His Texan hospitality and overall knowledge of the menu and drinks he pours makes you feel extremely comforatable. The restaurant is clean and well designed without being pretentious or stuffy. If you are in Vegas make it a point to check this place out.

Overall user rating: Highly Recommended

Is there a place where someone who doesn't like sushi (NOT me, I love the stuff) can eat and the sushi lovers will be happy too?

Lance, I'm staying 7th - 11th - we need to have sushi!!

All this talk of sushi is making me really hungry!!!

I can say I've gone to a lot of sushi places in Vegas and never had a bad experience. Most of the places I know and would recommend are up in Summerlin though, and would be to far away for most (15 min drive)

Another Vegas local and Sushi fanatic here

My top picks:

Sushi Bay - On Windmill and Pecos
Sushi Mon - On Silverado Ranch and Maryland Parkway
Sushi Factory - On Tropicana and Jones

Those are by far the best in my opinion. Fresh fish, big pieces, and a good price

Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel

This Japanese temple to the celeb gods consistently serves up delectable straightforward dishes as well as more adventurous fusion. The fish is so fresh that you'll swear Las Vegas was at the beach. Try the yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, which artfully marries the tuna's buttery flavor with a sizable punch of raw peppers. The lobster salad combines moist chunks of the treasured shellfish with crisp greens, shiitake mushroom morsels and a zesty lemon dressing.
