It's a good idea to know how to spell the name of the country you're interested in investing in before you invest in it. Just a thought.

Hola,

We've been living here for over two years now and loving it.

Definately check out the Costa Rica Bash if you're able, Feb 23rd-26th. It should give you an idea of the country and the people. As well, we will be holding seminars the first day on how to move your business offshore, taxation (or lack of) in CR, the people here, etc...

I bought a brand-new constructed house here in August, in a pretty good area, for $120,000. It's about 214 square metres in size, about 13 rooms including bathrooms. So real estate is definately a steal!

As for the people, depends how you act. If you flash money, steal their women and talk down to them, generally they probably will resent you. If you are chill, you should have no problems.

Cools thanks for the input. Yeah I,m a laid back person. My girlfriend and I are thinking of moving somewhere nicer for a while and Costa Rica keeps coming up.

We have a baby on the way. And I'm not shure if we want to raise him/her in place where we aren't happy. Also it's beging to get crapy here where we live.

I was home schooled (maybe thats why I can't spell) but I think I would like to do that for my kid/s. In another country where everyone seems to be happy. I hate how depressed people are in North America. So yea I will have to try and make it out to the Bash.

Thanks

I've heard the people are fantastic - very friendly and pro-american and the entire country is super environment friendly.

Any tips on getting financing down there? I've thought about moving there for quite some time, but I'm not bling bling enough to just pop down and pay cash for a house. Do the banks work with you down there?
