Damn - The UFC Ain't Cheap!!!!

Just looking at Ticketmaster for the card on Feb.4th at Mandalay Bay (Randy vs. Chuck, take 3) and the tickets start at $100 a pop (they are probably in the parking lot) up to $700 ... $300 for the lower deck.

I guess, still a bargain compared to big boxing matches but still...

That, my friends, is an expensive night out!

Ringside tickets were $300 each when we went a couple of years back. You must be in a high population area.

I don't completely understand your last sentence - what does where I live have to do with ticket prices?

In any event, I'm guessing that it's because this will be the biggest UFC fight in years. I'm still hoping to go, it should be rocking that night!

I've been to 2 events - Order it on PPV instead.

Unless you don't mind being surrounded by idiot rednecks shouting instructions to the world-class fighters fighting in the Octagon.

Sorry but UFC crowds are predominantly composed of white trash morons.

Point noted, but at up to $700 a ticket I'll hope the rednecks will be in the nose-bleeds or couldn't afford to get in

Because promoters can't charge as much as in big towns...In some tours the price is fixed before so it don't change from place to place (for really big artists).

Vegas is a whole other thing thought... dosen't work like any other city arround the world !

Smaller artists can live on less money and their rates vary a lot depending on the size of the event.

But in this case, this is indeed a really big fight, and they could probably push the "box" envelope and start cashing in even more then they do now. But I guess the PPV deal and letting the opportunity for the higher mid class people getting in good seats ;)

The way I understand the original point, it was not where the fight was but where I lived that decided the price -- which is impossible, because TicketMaster doesn't know where I live when I check the prices for tickets!

I understand your other points however: As the UFC always have main events in Vegas they can obviously charge a lot more! And for concerts, etc., of course they charge different prices in different cities due to many factors including the price of renting the arena for the night.

FYI, the UFC was questioned about the ticket prices and they stated this is a one time deal. Normal PPV events wont be this expensive. This event is during SUPERBOWL weekend and that is always a huge weekend for Vegas, so I can kinda see where they're coming from. Lots of people with $$ to burn in town for the weekend so, might as well get some of it as the fight is gonna rock!
