Opps sorry. hehe :love2suck :love2suck

Deb 02-21-2006 03:24 PM

Ok, adapter is here, Thanks Chris.
However, I'm having problems setting it up (no support info included). It seems that the first step is to locate the adapter's IP address. On their forum it says: "To determine your adaptor's IP address, pick up the telephone handset. On a Handytone-286 or Handytone-486, dial "****" (that's the star symbol four times) and the device will read the IP address back to you. Enter the address, including the dots, below, overwriting the "0.0.0.0" entry:"

Since I have an adapter box and not an actual adapter phone, I have no handset to pick up and dial **** on. lol

So, this is my stumbling block to getting this set up. I'll report back should anything change. *sighs*

Deb 02-21-2006 03:41 PM

Alright, found the above info. Now onto the rest of the setup. Wish me luck! lol

Well, now I need to know what 'service provider' to use for the configuration wizard. They provide a list of them to choose from, but none of them sound familiar to me, so I called Chris & left 2 messages for him asking him for this info. He doesn't seem to be available this evening. :Oh crap

Guess I'll just try this again tomorrow and hope that I can get this info from him then.

milkit 02-21-2006 08:34 PM

i sent an email just now, too late?

Should be same info you used for your softphone I would think.

Maybe suavemente.net
What adapter did you get btw? Ill do a bit of research see what I can find out for you. :winkwink:

Yeah, I *thought* it would be suavemente.net too, but that's not on the list that they provide with the configuration wizard. Therein lies my dilemma. :(

He ordered the Grandstream HandyTone-286 adapter for me. It's a nice compact little unit.

stickyfingerz 02-21-2006 08:50 PM

http://www.grandstream.com/user_manuals/HandyTone.pdf There is the manual, not sure if you have that or not. Im skimming it now.

Yup, downloaded that already too. Thanks though.
I'm gonna go over it again. Maybe I missed something. Gonna get hubby to read through it too. Sometimes you find things easier with more than one set of eyes looking at it. :)

The only one that can set you up is Chris AKA SplitInfinity hon. If you sent an email, then I'm sure he'll get in touch with you at some point - if they're still looking for beta testers. I don't know what the status is on that.

Sticky & I are just beta testers. :)

Hey Sticky, it was great chatting with you last night! :thumbsup
Hubby & I were up until 5am trying to get this shit figured out and we still don't have it up and running. :(

He's been at it now for the past 2 hours, and it's not looking good. I'll keep ya posted as things progress here. :)

Yeah, that's right up there with the eternal question, "what is the meaning of life?" at this point in time. :(

SplitInfinity 02-24-2006 02:42 AM

Dear Customers,

1- We had a slight hiccup with our main US provider today. We quickly moved to a
secondary provider. We are now back with the primary.

2- We have upgraded our routing for the following countries:

Honduras
El Salvador
Vietnam
Syria

Your feedback would be most appreciated.

3- For the past week or so, we have been using a new Canada carrier (more expensive
for us). Has it been worth it? Have you noticed a difference?

4- Russia Moscow code 7495 has been added and set at a price of 1 cent. We'll be
working on refunds, since supposedly it changed over in February. (For those who are not beta testers)

Thanks,
Chris

Quick Feedback:
Noticed random disconnections @ around 0:07-0:08 minutes in. Will report back.
Overall service has been improved, calls are connecting faster all around. :)

Hi guys, an update..... We have been very very busy working on the deployment of the VoIP network. More features have been added, I'll post
instructions later.

For now:

We are testing new routes in a secondary Denver POP. We will consider making a
second Super POP (after the existing gateways in Denver and L.A.) after more
thorough internal testing and subscriber beta testing.

Why are we doing this? Some subscribers have voiced concern over audio
artifacts in their outbound calls. We're hoping this new gateway will relieve
some of these problems.

Please report your results to us! It is very important the hear back regarding what
is providing the best results for you. Thanks and happy calling!
