My only questions concern how to get incoming calls, and what username/pw you use with voicemail. Your on my icq. Im sure you are busy with all this, but Im going out of town tommorow night and would like to see if I can receive calls on my laptop while away. Thanks in advance!! :thumbsup

I haven't had a call 'drop' since I made that last post, so I guess those call aggregators that you added, did their job. :thumbsup

To answer the obvious, YES you can have your own phone number.

Thanks Ill check back to see what the solution is. If possible to do a seperate phone number, and then I could just forward to that number, that would be fine also. The service rocks, and very happy so far. Need to find out about getting the adapter to hook up home phones sometime after 1st of year and holidays are all dying down.

Just a general tip for anyone using SplitInfinity's service with a cisco pix firewall. I do not work for SplitInfinity, i am only one of their beta testers trying to help the others out.

The pix firewall as you may know denys all unless explicitly allowed. Heres a tip to allow you fellas using the cisco product to get around this.

Locate the ACL which effects your network segment.

Do this by: " show access-group " (you will need to know which interface your traffic is going through) For this example im going to use " outbound " as my example.

Now add the following line:

access-list outbound udp permit any host aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd

Replace aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd with the address in which jester emailed you.

Test out your soft phone, likly it will still say something about timing out. No worries,

Click on the button to the right of "clear".
Click on "System Settings"
Double click on "Sip Proxy"

Now double click on the appropriate proxy. Reference the email jester sent you if you forget. Im not going release any of their connect info :)

Now change "Send Internal IP" from default, to always. finished =) You can tighten security by restricting it to each individual port, however i grew impatient looking for the ports i needed to use. Maybe someone can post them? I believe their UDP 5060 and udp 8000. But im unsure.

Another problem i ran into but this time at home. I am able to log into splitinfinities service with ease, but i have no sound on either end. I cant hear them, they cant hear me. Simple fix

Pass UDP ports 8000-8005 to your machine's IP (set this on your firewall/router etc). X-lite uses UDP 8000-8005 for RTP.

Are you a fellow beta tester? Yes? Great!

One cool new feature is as follows:

Dial 619-632-4144, after you hear "Dial 1 for techsupport" you can then dial the username you wish to be connected to. For testing purposes feel free to give me a ring @ 5013.

You can reach anyone who uses SplitInfinity voip services using the above method, all you need is their username. =)

Great chatting with you, seems to be a slight lag via this option. When dial out direct there are no problems at all.

As to you. =) I will post the head set im using at home, it works great and i think you will love it. What would you say? 2 sec delay or so?

I think the lag is on deeks side... something about his connection is doing that..
