WAIT WAIT WAIT
vonage lets you use a normal phone from anywhere in the world (even a hotel phone) why would you do this people? not to mention splitinfinity are crooks? |
I restarted my comp and noticed that my settings for the xlite phone were not saved. :(

"vonage lets you use a normal phone from anywhere in the world (even a hotel phone) why would you do this people?
not to mention splitinfinity are crooks? " First of all, we offer the same as Vonage. They can use normal phones as well. Second, you have no place in posting in my thread. Just because you read something does not mean it is true. Also, there are two sides to every story and in the case of that thread you chose to educate yourself with, there is alot more to it than you would possibly know. So before you go posting like a know it all, best do your homework and be right. "Vonage is an all-inclusive phone service that can replace your current phone company. Vonage gives you local and long distance calling anywhere in the US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada for one low price. We can do this because we use your existing high-speed Internet connection (also known as broadband) instead of standard phone lines. You'll save money and get great features like Caller ID with Name, Call Waiting and Voicemail Plus included at no additional cost. " We do all of that and then some.. Some crooks we are, giving this service to people here for free so they help us test it? Ha. |

I think thats how they try to get you to upgrade to the paid version. Have no fear! We are working with the software company to gain licensing for pre-configured versions of their software for our users. Ill post as soon as I know more. |
Split - thanks for the 800 number and all of your hard work in getting this service to be top notch. :thumbsup
Making Coin - not sure why that happened to you when you rebooted. I haven't ever had that happen to me. That sucks. MrJackMeHoff - You're an asshat for even posting that shit in this thread. |
Heheh, someones calling spain alot. :-) Cool stuff. I see LOTS of international calls.
|
that sucks man, sorry to hear that.
|
Nice, I got my information today! :thumbsup
I'm still trying to figure out how to make external calls and such :( Did you guys ever get around writing a FAQ for voip noobs? |
Call Failed 499: Not acceptable here.
|
Hit me up in ICQ or AIM.... or post the number you are trying to call here...
|
Im using you guys to write the FAQ's :-)
Keep the questions coming along. |
It's saying that for all of the US calls I have attempted to make so far.
I'll reconfigure the settings tommorrow on the softphone. It might be a settings mixup. So far I only got connected to one call earlier, which I got the voicemail on. Since that call, nothing worked back. I'll keep you posted tommorrow on the situation, I'm mobile right now. |
Update:
Just tried it real quick on one of the laptops. It's up and running! :D I believe the problem was a mistake on my part. It's probably going to turn up to be a wrong codec setting mixup. |
I'm waiting to try this thing out. Looks interesting. I hope the call quality is better than Skype out!
|
Q. What kind of speaker/mic (headset) set up should I get? I don't have a mic, now.
A. When selecting a headset there are several things you must choose between a USB Headset or a Mic/Heaphone jack connected headset. Here at SplitInfinity, when it comes to our laptops, we use Logitech headsets, specifically the Internet Chat Headset. This headet works well and is inexpensive ($19.00 USD). |
paymeback, your settings have been emailed.
Welcome aboard. |
Glad to see you up and running emthree.
|
J$tyle$ is pimpin VoIP as well now. ;-) We gotta welcome the celebrity beta tester.
:-) |
Yep all working here now, had some problems with my ISP supplied modem which has SIP disabled by default.

Can't wait for that. |
very serous chris has already given me the chance to try it out on my cell, doesnt work perfect yet but its freaking amazing, you could buy a phone with data serverices and like no more then 10 minutes of phone time you go to a website loads a script that turns your phone into voip. its quite sexy

Yep, Im VERY serious about that. Stay tuned for all the details.... Ill announce that part of it and how to use it shortly after new years...
|
Funny stuff: I'm in Big Bear right now at a Cabin that has NO telephone service.
It does however have cable TV and a cable modem.... So Im making and receiving all my calls on my laptop from here with a headset. Works perfectly even on the worst cable modem network ever. Very nice to be sitting in the snow with our VoIP network technology backing me up. :-) |

Cant wait until this is released, I'll be the first in line to buy a voip enabled phone. :thumbsup Happy New Years to everyone at split & the beta testers. :thumbsup :xmas-smil |
Notice: Today, January 1st, we had a glitch happen due to the date change.
A cron job failed when the year changed over and took down the voip clusters. This has been fixed. Thanks to those who reported the issue. Regards, Chris |
