DIGITAL cable scramblers/filters? INfO please

I was wondering if anyone has experience with cable filters/descramblers that allow you to get ALL cable channels?

Up till a couple of years ago I had a "black box" for my Cox cable TV and it was AWSUM! It aloud me to recieve all the channels offered by Cox including ALL of the ppv events. Saved me a shitload of money on UFC, WWF, and concert events.

Now Cox is digital and I still want my free channels! :-)

Anyone have any knowledge on this subject? Anyone have Cox or digital cable and have a "black box"

Any info you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks

P4 card was the start of hell ...

Theif = cable company ... $50 for a Pride fight, c'mon !!

$24.95 - O.K. I'll pay ... BTW Most satellite hackers ALWAYS carried a subscription package - you had to for the image unless you wanted to go through one of the 1000's of other ways that were a pain in the ass. But most of them were hobbyist doing it for fun - wow I forgot about DTV hacking - been a while... lol

there are digital descramblers though you should try to understand how these things work before you use it.

digital cable receivers all have their own "frequency" which is specific to EACH BOX and has to be registered with the cable company. so, it's just like your cable modem, it has a code on the bottom of it and each one is unique.

the descramblers work on ACTIVE subscriptions by intercepting and changing the packet of information that transmits that the "purchase" of a show or PPV event was successful. however, since a purchase request is first sent to the cable company, they can track how many were purchase and how many failed and if you fuck around too much they'll catch you...

i was thinking of picking one of these up a while back but it's just not worth it. digital cable makes it toooo easy to track down since each box is registered to a certain user.

you might as well try to talk to your cable guy and get the hookup from him.

Has anyone seen the new commercials on TV about stealing cable? It's pretty funny. It's a couple of news anchors broadcasting about stealing cable and the penalties for it. It's really cheesy. This thread made me think about it.

Yikes! Sounds like a no win situation for me. Your right it is not worth the risk if it is that easy to track down.

Thanks for all the info! Maybe I will swap lifetime passwords to BiminiBucks websites for free cable with my cable guy!

probably your best bet, a lot of these guys make close to nothing and they don't mind hookin people up once in a while. though you should always be careful with this new digital shit, it's nothing like the old school shit.

when the cable guy that offered me a "special" came to fix my digital crap he also mentioned that he sold digital satellite boxes and those are near impossible to track since they just pull the signal straight from the dish and decode it. I hate dishes cause the shit rarely works out here when we get the snow clouds but with the exception of on demand, it's the same shit as digital cable.

make sure you get the Science channel. that shit is unbelievable

My cable bill is nuts. I don't want to mess with the digital boxes and getting caught though.

Is there any way to do it with a dish? I'm talking buy the dish and boxes somewhere and then intercept the signal. Is there a reliable way to do this? I don't want to spend hundreds on equipment and have it not work.

not exactly sure how your cable system works but if its the same as ours , the cable is just basically scramblers with color inversion , dscaler and a tvtuner for the pc might do the trick

i hardly doubt that descramblers all run on there own freq , that would require massive bandwidth on the cable line to run a few hundred thousand freqs all streaming close to the same thing , the system that we use here is just the box has its own seriel number , the ops are able to switch a box on or off , but with a mod chip you can get around this

as for getting tracked down , it is a bit easy for them to do it , but its time consuming , they can do some maths to work out legit customer drain on the cable compared to overall drain by that they can then guess that X amound of ppl are pirates , what they then need to do it come out to the network tap into the juction and manually track the house down , a time consuming process

digital cable , any idea of the encryption that they are using , once you know the encryption being used you can get a better idea if it is able to get free cable

You have primative cable service. Everything above channel 100 is digital here. Absolutely no way around it.

There is a way to get PPV events for free on Digital Cable

It requires buying a filter ($3.95 at Radio Shack). The filter blocks the frequency that the cable company uses to send out billing information. So basically you will get free PPV for a good period of time. Eventually your cable box will sense something funny is going and give you an error. Un screw the filter, have a cable guy come reset your box. But beware...nobody has found a way to get rid of the PPV programs that were ordered to go away short of getting a new cable box. So when the filter comes off....the countless "Free" PPV programs you ordered will all be sent for billing.

LOL you had me excited for a minute there!

So you put on the filter and get all these events for free...................untill it stops working and you have to take it off the box, and when you take it off the box it then sends all the info to the cable company telling them all the PPV events you watched?????

That could be a HUGE bill!!!! No thanks! :-)
