I recently became slightly concerned about children accessing my sites when I investigated a chargeback I recieved. I was told that the person that signed up was under the legal age and not liable for their actions. I started to wonder how many chargebacks I get are from underage people. I promote filtering software on my main sites. But I don't understand exactly how they work. If the kid just shuts down his computer and restarts it is safe mode and removes the filtering software would that not disable the filtering software?

Post your tips on keeping the little ones off your sites, and protecting yourself when they do get access. From kinds of warning pages to HTML coding that filtering software looks for when blocking sites. Also any information about laws and or court cases pertaining to the subject.

I believe this will become an even more major issue in the future and we should work together to protect eachother and those fragile little minds.

I think we can only do so much. It's the parents responsibility to safe guard their children. But then again, not sure how that will hold up in court.

I get people emailing me ever so often telling me they want a refund or perform a chargeback because their "kid", or some other unauthorized person, got ahold of their card.

I call them a fucking liar and ignore them... usually.

Trust me, its a common tactic for people to use to get their money back after they have raped your members section for a month.

What I do sometimes is bullshit them and tell them that I am reporting the card to an international credit card fraud database that will help them keep from becoming victims again by disabling their card so it can no longer be used on pornographic websites.

You would be suprised how many people change their tune.

Fuck the surfer, he is the enemy.

and so is Fade.

What I like the best is how when they are trying to tell me it is a fraudulent transaction they give me the username and password as well as other ibill info like transaction id or subscription id.

unless you have blind type in domain names,,,and have links to adult sites from kids sites,,there is nothing you can do about it,,,

let the kids parents take some responsibilty

Provide links to net filtering programs and that is enough in my opinion.
Any parent who lets their children surf the internet alone, should be using some program to block websites.

It is also important not to attempt to trick people into visiting your page.
Don't submit your adult site under non-xxx keywords etc..

Most interesting! Lots of good ideas. The one thing I am thinking of that I have not seen on anybodies page is like a question that only an adult would know the answer to. But there are to many stupid adults and a person could click the back button and try again and again until they got the right answer!

why do you all think a nude chick is bad for a kid?!? 50 yrs ago nude knees were thought to be bad for kids to see and see what the world looks like right now... and there's still no short on child-shrinks...

i think being not so pathetic is the best solution to this so-called 'problem'.

We agree that the parents have a responsibilty to watch their kids BUT... we have to tread a little more lightly here versus the Netherlands. Asking adult questions like where do your taxes get mailed to isn't a real good one. lmao Most adults wouldn't have a clue. They stuff the paper in the envelope, stamp it (ain't THAT a bite) and mail it without ever reading where it's going. lmao

Oh well time will tell in the next few years what hoops we will have to jump thru. I don't think Bush and crew will let this go forever. He'll get bored listening to the same old military reports and want something else to mess with at the same time.

Not all sites are "nude chicks." There are sites with bukkake and anal sex and men blowing goats and all that kind of stuff. We're in the "adult industry" for a reason: there are things people of a certain age aren't ready for yet.

I remember taking a look at the dirty magazineswhen I was a kid But that was never a political issue. Now cracking down on internet porn is a big deal. And it could be very serious. I sure don't feel like going to jail because some poduk county prosecuter in podunk land wants a piece of my hide because some buck toothed ugly kid saw a dirty picture on my website. warning pages? - yeah sure... like any kid is gonna click 'exit' just because it says you gotta be 18+... that just makes it more exciting... imo warning pages make it only worse. it's only to keep the narrowminded-biblepreachers-kind-of-guys happy.

avs? - pretty good protection but usually WE don't want that... usually when you run let's say a TGP you don't want an annoying, time-stealing, scary, ccnr requiring loginform as splash page... it simply prevents TOO many people from entering...

content filter software? - could work, but only when a PARENT installs it...

for the rest i don't see any options ... (?)

Nowadays these kids know more about computers and the internet than we ever thought of knowing, and the problem that I see with the child protection software is that most parents don't know a thing about computers, so the child is the one that has to install the software. So it's, "Yes Mom.. I set all of the filters just like you wanted."

I use this on most of my enter pages.

Here is the VERY SIMPLE truth about the Internet and children getting on it.
1.It takes an adult to purchase a computer (most of the time, or at least in
EVERY case I have seen)
2.It takes an adult to order the telephone line to connect to the Internet with.
3.It takes an adult to even have electricity for the computer to run ( Utility Company ).
4.It takes an adult to order the Internet Service (usually with a credit card) from a ISP
5.It takes an adult to provide a place (home) for the computer to be in
WHY THEN GIVE A UNSUPERVISED CHILD ACCESS TO THE INTERNET?
The answer is DON'T.
Take precautions, make safety plans, most of all KNOW what they are looking at.
The Internet is a powerful thing. You can learn about far off places, study history,
buy a car...and yes surf porn, so don't use it as a baby sitter.

So, you have some need to give away porn for free? Wise up! I remember when I first got in this biz, there was no such thing as Netnanny, or any other software like that, because there was no such thing as free porn (ie: no TGP, no pic posts, no free sites)

As long as there are people out there with this need to give shit away, it is going to make it tougher for you to make a buck.

By the way, when you are dealing with AVS traffic, you are dealing with traffic that not only owns a credit card, but you are dealing with traffic that is not afraid to use it to buy porn. Every single one of them has done it already (in case you had not figured that out yet).

Why is there such a big fuss about kids watching nude people or people having sex? Kids watch the most terrible movies even cartoons where others get slaughtered, blood, guns, torture
and hardly anyone is bothered by that.
