does GFY have something against God?

just seems some people have a feeling that everyone who believes in God is some insane christian trying to impose beliefs on everyone.

i for one 100% believe in God, and i also believe in an after life, since i was a young child i have had strong beliefs and have always been interested in those beliefs and to this day continue to evolve them.

there is nothing wrong with having beliefs, beliefs are a possitive thing if you're willing to share them in a possitive way with people.

being against or acting like their is something wrong with people who believe in God is just as bad as the extreme religious people trying to impose religious ways on people.

I just think a lot of us have had our fill with constantly coming under fire from organized religion...in one form or another. After a while you just become sensitized to anything that approaches religious matters.

if you don't follow the bible to the letter there is absolutely no point in being a christian. It's fundamentalist or nothing.

If you disagree, you are not a christian, you are a deist.

Tradition, perhaps. I'm not sure.

I was agnostic for many years...kept an open mind about it all. But the past few years I've swayed entirely to atheism for various personal reasons.

Aside from that, we've come under fire of local religious activists on a few occasions, which has really solidified my opposition to organized religion these days.

he had no answer and asked me if i wanted the mormon bilbe and slammed my door on him.

Every Holy writing ever made has been perverted and "interpreted by men". Who by his own admission is a faulty creature. How can anyone believe in Religion? I have infinite faith but will always have a hard time with "Religion".

We get the jehovahs rather than the mormons here. The jehovah's are truly a fun bunch. I invited one in for a conversation a few years back. It was going just fine until they asked to use the washroom. I sent'em to the basement guest bathroom - they had to pass through our bondage studio to reach it. I never heard the toilet flush - they came right back up the stairs, picked up their literature on the coffeetable, and headed for the front door.

Let's go back to your original post.

You say you have belief in a god, yet you're not into the organized religion aspect.

That's fine.

How do you reconcile your belief in god with your activities in the adult industry - just curious.

thing is: Its easier to belive in a god and NOT be in a religion...that way you can do anything you want, and still go to your custom equivalent of "heaven"...(or whatever you think there is after death)...

God
n 1: the supernatural being conceived as the perfect and omnipotent and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe; the object of worship in monotheistic religions [syn: God, Supreme Being] 2: any supernatural being worshipped as controlling some part of the world or some aspect of life or who is the personification of a force [syn: deity, divinity, immortal]

i didnt say I BELIEVED GOD WAS A TREE, i was making a point.

the point of the thread is about BELIEF and common misconseptions.

im not arguing religion in this thread.

"non sense" who really knows what on this earth is "non sense" and what isnt. its all perception.

the problem is that we humans have an ego problem and we also can't beleive in something we can't explain. why would we want to beleive in a higher power that doesnt show its face to us? how is it possible that something out there is greater than us?

people have an easier time beleiving in aliens than in a god.

also, omnipotence is something our feeble minds will never understand so we can leave it at that.

either you beleive or you don't.

i have always believed in a higher power and i always will.

nice nice.

i belive in aliens AND God

thats what belief is, its believing in something that may not immediatly be infront of us.

fact is as humans we do not know shit, imo there is so much more to our being that we are not even aware of that i dont understand why people do not believe in anything?

I've always told my wife that I want my epitaph to read, "Gone to see for himself."

Seriously...

We all experience different and individual circumstances throughout each of our lives - the interpretation of which shape our beliefs or non-beliefs.

what if I belive in science, and evolution, etc...???

The fact that you belive in god makes you closer to a religion...sure its not an organized religion, because you'd be the only one in it...but you still share some common ideas with most of the religions....

(I get your point...just tossing some ideas around :P )

all good for convo, i dont mind answering,

I DO believe in eveolution,
and i also belive in God.

you could say the same for just about anything in this world, its ideas based and evolved off one another.

and i said my beliefs CHANGE, religions is a concrete faction, my beliefs constantly take different spins depending.

Who among us would be willing to voluntarily undergo a medical flatline and be brought back to life in a gamble/attempt to see if there's anything beyond...?

(yeah, yeah...thinkin' of that old movie with Kevin Bacon, heh)
